From September 14th to 20th 2012, Fry's brick-and-mortar locations will be offering the Note 10.1 16GB for $499.99, pitching in a generous $100 gift card with purchase.
Let's face it: large physical retail stores can be difficult to navigate at times, especially for first-time shoppers. To help alleviate this problem, UK retailer Tesco (informally known as the European Walmart) has developed and is now testing an in-store GPS system that can be accessed from an Android phone.
Upon opening the app, you'll be greeted with an empty shopping list which you can fill with any and all products available at Tesco. This isn't just any shopping list, however; step into the Tesco Extra store in northeast London and a comprehensive store map will appear on your handset, complete with the locations of all the items on your list.
It's a wild day for Best Buy Mobile and the Samsung Nexus S, and from the looks of it, it's only going to get wilder.
No, it's not just you - the device on the right-most side of the screenshot above is indeed running Gingerbread (at least judging by the notification bar and its revamped icons), and it is indeed what we've come to know as the Nexus S. Unfortunately, there's no pre-order link in sight this time around, but at least we now know what the phone will actually look like outside of fake Photoshop renders. Damn, Best Buy, just release the thing already.
UPDATE: Per our informer below in the comments, this may be limited to only some Verizon retail locations. But, there is confirmation that several actual Verizon locations would not sell unsubsidized devices in the link we’re sourcing.
Numerous persons are confirming in comments and side-notes on DroidLife that some Verizon stores are refusing to sell unsubsidized (full-price) Droid X’s to customers who are showing up and waiting in line for the device this morning. They are reportedly being directed to place orders online and have the phone shipped. While this is arguably little more than a shrewd business tactic, it certainly doesn’t make Verizon look any better given all the bad press the Droid X has been getting.
