Were you one of the many people surprised and delighted when T-Mobile announced that it would be selling the LG Optimus T for just $29.99? If so, you're about to be even more surprised and delighted - both the Optimus T and its Huawei-built brethren are now available for $0.00 on a new two-year contract!

It's not exactly shocking to see Wirefly touting the device free of charge when some of their recent deals are taken into account, but it certainly is a bit surprising to see that T-Mobile's doing the same. While the latter's still charging $29.99 for the colored versions of the phones, Wirefly will hand you both the Burgundy and the Titanium versions free.

Huawei Ideos Launches November 3rd Under A New Name: T-Mobile Comet [VIDEO]

For such a small carrier (the smallest out of the four US nationals), T-Mobile's got a pretty good selection of Android smartphones - the now infamous G2 from HTC, the Samsung Vibrant, and the Motorola Charm being just a few. Well, it looks like Huawei may be adding their own phone, the Comet (previously known as the Ideos), to that heap come November 3rd, along with a 3MP camera, GPS capabilities, and the Swype keyboard out of the box. Pricing hasn't been announced just yet, but judging by the features mentioned above (especially the 3MP camera, ugh) as well as the features seen in the screenshot below, it shouldn't be too expensive.

Getting Down And Dirty With IDEOS: Tech Specs On Huawei's Sub-$200 (Retail) Android Phone

Admittedly, posting news on a comparatively lame Android phone is somewhat out of character for us; even more so, nerding out over the hardware of yesteryear. That said, there's a lot of value to be found among the masses in cheap, capable goods such as the upcoming Huawei IDEOS, a 2.8" Android 2.2 phone. The kicker? Rumor pegs the price at less than $200 - conceivably low enough to be used for prepaid plans.

We didn't see the tech specs anywhere, so we pinged Huawei for additional details. They aren't necessarily mind-blowing, but again, for less than $200, what do you expect?
