We already know that HTC has delivered the KitKat ROM for its Google Play edition HTC One, and now the kernel source and framework files from that release have been posted on HTCdev. If you blink, you might miss the beginning of the OTA.
HTC hasn't been sitting on its hands lately. The company announced when KitKat was unveiled that all HTC One variants in the US would receive the latest version within 90 days. In the case of the Google Play Edition, the update would come in just 15. Here we are at day 15, and HTC has publically stated that KitKat's arrival time is entirely in Google's hands now. According to a tweet sent out earlier today, everything is done on their end.

While this story sounds like it would have an unhappy ending with some users left stranded using an older version of Jelly Bean, HTC has come out with an alternative means of saving the day. Today the company posted a full 1.12 GB RUU that T-Mobile customers can download and flash manually.

If you've wanted to know when the Android 4.3 update is coming to the HTC One, HTC Americas president Jason Mackenzie is the man to follow. It's from him that we first found out about the latest version of Android coming to our favorite aluminum handset this fall, and he was the one who provided more specific ETAs as time went on. Now he's revealed that the Android 4.3 update is scheduled to roll out to T-Mobile HTC One owners this upcoming Monday, the 21st.
It's been leaked more than a few times, but early this morning HTC finally took the rather large wraps off the One max. The new phone is essentially a supersized version of the HTC One stretched out to a massive 5.9 inches. HTC hasn't been sitting on its hands for the last few months: the One max (little "m") also includes an oh-so-trendy fingerprint scanner beneath the camera.
From a hardware perspective, the One max and the older One have quite a lot in common indeed.
