An HTC product manager announced this morning that Verizon had approved the Android 4.4.2 update destined for its version of the HTC One. The OTA is on its way, though we don't yet have a date. Nevertheless, Verizon has now uploaded a document detailing what to expect in the update.

Leaked Photo Shows Purported HTC One Sequel With Dual Rear Cameras

It's about that time of year, folks - as Mobile World Congress approaches at the end of February, more and more upcoming phones are going to be leaked. HTC One Android 4.4.2 Update Is Now Rolling Out In Several European Countries

HTC One users across the pond: your time has come. We're hearing from multiple sources across the Internet that HTC One units in continental Europe and Russia are being updated to the latest version of Android right now. The first one to tip us was reader Matiss Justs, who got the over-the-air alert for Android 4.4.2 just before noon local time (4AM EST) in Latvia.

[Update: Rolling Out Now] Verizon HTC One Support PDF Updated With Android 4.3 Information, OTA Should Begin Rolling Out Shortly

If you own a Verizon HTC One, it's time to start tapping that "check for updates" button. Following Friday's announcement by HTC of an Android 4.3 firmware update, Verizon has updated its support PDF for the device with a full changelog. The new firmware version is 2.10.605.1. In addition to the obvious OS upgrade, there seems to be a fair number of bug fixes including:

  • Increased charging speed when using Mophie Juicepack power station
  • Corrected faint ringing noise from earpiece
  • Play purchased ringtones
  • Connection error fixed in the HTC Watch application
  • View the correct date using the all day calendar reminder
  • Conjunction words are better recognized on device keyboard
  • Backup Assistant performance

Verizon Approves HTC One 4.3 OTA, Rollout Should Start Early Next Week

If Verizon's HTC One is your daily carry, good things are afoot: according to HTC Product Management Director @Moversi, the company has approved the 4.3 OTA and it should begin rolling out next week. This news comes roughly six weeks after HTC America President Jason Mackenzie stated that they company would need "more time to spin new [software] and re-test the 4.3 update," which was said to take approximately a month.

Sprint HTC One Receives Minor OTA Update To Software Version 3.05.651.3 That Fixes "No SIM Card" Issue

There are still a few months to go before the standard HTC One gets upgraded to Android 4.4, but in the meantime, Sprint is rolling out a minor OTA to the aluminum-bodied flagship. This update addresses an issue following a previous upgrade where users were presented with a "No SIM Card" message informing them that 4G LTE will not work without the required card. The phone should now also more accurately display how strong a radio signal it is picking up.
