DxO Labs Issues DMCA Takedown Requests On 12 GitHub Repositories, Some CyanogenMod Repos Affected

A French image processing company by the name of DxO Labs has filed a DMCA takedown request targeting 12 GitHub repositories containing device-specific code for ROMs, most of them maintained by CyanogenMod team members. The notice is vague, only citing:

[3] I have a good faith belief that the file downloads identified below (by URL) are unlawful under these copyright laws because among other things, the files circumvent effective access controls and/or copyright protection measures;

[4] Reason:

Content Type: "Custom Firmware" files

Violation(s): Trafficking a device that circumvents effective access controls and/or trafficking a device that circumvents effective copyright protection measures.

Sprint Declares "The Evo Has Landed" – HTC Evo 4G LTE Now Available From Sprint Online And In Stores

Just as expected, HTC's Evo 4G LTE has finally landed at Sprint, both online and in stores. After the latest Evo's extended stay at US Customs, the device has arrived just in time for release, perfectly timed for early celebration of the original Evo 4G's release a mere two years ago.

Sprint's EVO 4G LTE Release Date Finally Official: May 18th 2012 For $199

The HTC EVO 4G LTE is probably the most anticipated phone to ever makes its way to the Now Network (except maybe that other phone), and it in just ten days, you'll be able to claim one as your own. That's right, Sprint finally announced the release date for the newest edition to the EVO line, and it will be hitting shelves on May 18th for $199 with a two-year agreement.

For anyone who hasn't already heard, the EVO LTE is the latest successor to Sprint's popular EVO line, and will be the third device to run on its upcoming LTE network.

We've been hearing rumors about Sprint's version of the HTC One X for a few weeks now, and the pair just took the wraps off the device. Simply known as the HTC EVO 4G LTE (okay, so I was off by one letter and a number on the name speculation, whatever), this will likely be Sprint's flagship device at the time of launch, and will be one of the premier devices on its LTE network.
