AT&T, T-Mobile, And Sprint Galaxy S II Models Outed In Leaked Image?

Update: On further reflection, we're going to tentatively call this image a "rumor" for now, as we have no way to confirm its authenticity, but we have no reason to think these images are fake, either.

Finally, visual proof that unicorns do exist! Someone, somewhere, has leaked a shot of the upcoming Galaxy S II US market handsets headed for three of America's big four carriers (ATT, T-Mo, Sprint). Without further ado, here they are:

Where the image is from, we're not sure (pocketnow provided no details), but it could very well be a slide from Samsung's upcoming press conference to announce the arrival of the first US-friendly Galaxy S II phones.

Samsung Hercules - T-Mobile's Galaxy S II Variant - Pictured, 4.5" Display Confirmed

Still holding out for the mythical (pun intended) Samsung Hercules, leaked via a T-Mobile roadmap a couple months back? While we don't have any pricing or release info just yet (though that September 26 release date certainly seems possible), TmoNews has gotten a hold of a few pictures of the device that confirmed it as the 4.5" Galaxy S2 T-Mobile variant.

These pictures don't confirm everything that is rumored about the phone, but they do have some good information in them:

The Hercules will officially be marketed as a Galaxy S2 phone
Runs Android 2.3
TeleNav GPS Navigator and Netflix pre-installed
4.5" display
TouchWiz 4.0
8 megapixel camera
Four capacitive buttons (unlike the international version of the GS2)

Yeah, September can't come soon enough.

[Unconfirmed] Is The Motorola Defy+ Making Its Way To AT&T?

The Motorola Defy is no joke: it's built to withstand being dropped, submerged in water, and is dust/scratch proof. According to This is my next, the next version of the Defy - subtly called the Defy+ - could be right around the corner and coming to an AT&T store near you.

The word on the street is that the second iteration of this durable handset is sporting 850 / 1900 / 2100 HSPA radios (hence the AT&T assumption) and is said to rock a 1GHz OMAP 3620 processor in place of the OMAP 3610 in the current version, as well as Android 2.3.3 right out of the box.

T-Mobile Doubles "4G" Network Speeds To HSPA+42 In 56 More Markets - Check If You're In One Of Them

T-Mobile's faux 4G network, also known as 3G HSPA+, is receiving a major update today in 56 more markets, which should double the maximum theoretical data throughput from 21MBps to 42MBps for compatible HSPA+ devices.

In addition to increasing connection speeds, T-Mobile is promising improved network capacity and reliability in the upgraded areas.

HTC myTouch 4G Slide Goes On Sale July 27th For $199.99, Available For Pre-Order Starting July 19th

Get ready, on-the-go photographers - come July 27th, you'll be able to pick up the myTouch 4G Slide, which, according to T-Mobile's presser, will be the best camera phone yet.

As a reminder, the latest iteration in the myTouch series will cost $199.99 with a new two-year contract and will pack:

Android 2.3 with Sense 3.0

You'll be able to pre-order the device starting July 19th, and while we're not so sure about that 3.7-inch WVGA display, we doubt that'll stop you if you're serious about great keyboards or mobile picture-taking.

T-Mobile Announces myTouch 4G Slide, Available In July For $199.99

Although not the best-kept secret over at T-Mobile, the latest entry in their myTouch series is still very impressive. Specs-wise, it is able to easily compete with the recently-released Sensation, but still has a few interesting software tricks up its sleeves:

While the 8 megapixel camera isn't unheard of among high-end smartphones, T-Mobile wants you to know that the 4G Slide is still easily capable of replacing your camera because the software features included.

Nielsen: Android Data Usage Only Averages 0.6GB A Month - Do Tiered Data Plans Make Sense?

Nielsenwire released new smartphone figures this morning, with a focus on data consumption. Topping the list of the data consumers amongst the smartphone OS's was, of course, Android.

The average Android user utilizes 582MB (or roughly .6GB) of data per month - far less than what is allocated by any of the major carrier's plans. We often hear about consumers becoming feisty over data plan tier-ification or throttling, but how many people do these caps and throttles actually affect? According to Nielsen, less than 3% of smartphone users average data consumption exceeding 2GB per month. Now, this is combining all platforms - though Android obviously makes up the majority.

HTC Sensation 4G On T-Mobile: Coming June 15 For All, As Early As June 12 At Select Walmart Stores

Update: It has been confirmed by T-Mobile that the Sensation 4G will cost $199.99 on a two-year contract after a $50 mail-in rebate. Still no word on off-contract pricing, however.

It doesn't come as much of a surprise, but T-Mobile has finally announced the release date of the long-awaited Sensation 4G - by June 15 at T-Mobile retail stores, and as early as June 12 at select Wal-Mart locations. Unfortunately, T-Mobile didn't provide anything in the way of pricing, but we'll certainly be hearing about that in the coming days. For a quick reminder of specs on this beast of a phone:

1.2 GHz dual core Snapdragon processor
4.3" qHD (960 x 540) display
Android 2.3 with Sense 3.0
768 MB RAM
8 megapixel camera with LED flash
