Notion Ink's Adam Tablet to Get A Number of Updates (Including Honeycomb By June 27th), Another Round of Sales

The founder of Notion Ink has updated the corporate blog with a number of changes that are coming to the company's Adam. For those of you interested in the Tegra-2 powered 10.1-inch tablet, the company is also opening up sales again, albeit by invite only.

We've covered Notion Ink's tablet progress through a number of controversies surrounding shipping and build quality, but it looks like the tablet will be finally getting an update to Honeycomb by the end of June if all goes according to plan.

Other updates include an new version of the Adam-specific market (even though you can unlock normal market access yourself), a kernel update, advanced customer support and hints at @Home support in the future.

Evernote, the wildly popular note-taking service, has a big following - but it hasn't really been properly adapted to the big screen, yet. We heard that was about to change back at I/O (we didn't have time to hit up the Evernote booth in the frenzy that was the conference), but the folks over at ArsTechnica sat down with the developers of Evernote and got the scoop.

Evernote for Honeycomb will be bringing an awesome new rich-text editor to the app, optimized for tablet use.

[Updated: Now With Root] [Download] The Leaked Official Android 3.1 Update For The ASUS Eee Pad Transformer

Well, well, well, what do we have here? Why, it's the Android 3.1 update for the ASUS Transformer that we were all expecting early next week. The 220MB package conveniently showed up on the web earlier this morning, bringing joy to Transformer owners who are reporting successful updates without any issues.

The Android 3.1 update to Honeycomb brings performance fixes, an enhanced app switcher, resizable widgets, and alleged improvements to the keyboard dock.

Grab the download file from our mirror here (I've already untarred the original .tar file so you don't have to) and then proceed to the slightly tweaked instructions below:

Note: You will likely lose root if you're already rooted, as this is a stock update.

Remember the stunning MyWater live wallpaper that was ripped out of the Transformer a month ago, complete with ice cubes floating in water that shifts around when you tilt your tablet? Here it is:

I actually had no idea but apparently the water level changes depending on the battery charge level. Very cool!

This was the only live wallpaper I've ever considered running on my XOOM - it's original, well done, and constantly draws intrigued stares from the people around. It was the only one until today that is, when I saw Ruvort's custom mods to it over at XOOMForums.com.

[New App] Tweetcaster HD For Honeycomb Lands In The Android Market

We've talked about a few different Twitter clients designed specifically for Honeycomb in the past, but none have been so anticipated as Tweetcaster HD. The standard Tweetcaster (for phones) has been a long time favorite app of Twitter users because of it's super-rad zip it feature, which gives you the ability to block tweets by keyword, so you can ignore annoying tweets without having to un-follow anyone. Now, along with several other nice features, you can have this functionality on your Honeycomb tablet!

Aside from Zip It, you can also color code tweets, retweet with or without comments, view @replies in a conversation style breakdown, and much more.

[Unconfirmed] Acer Delaying Iconia A100 Tablet Due To Honeycomb Restrictions On 7-Inch Screens?

The Acer Iconia A100 - a 7-inch Honeycomb tablet [unlike the 10" A500... makes sense, right? - Aaron]- was originally slated to hit the market in late May/early June, but has been delayed until August/September due to restrictions with Honeycomb on a 7-inch, 1024*600 display. Honeycomb was designed to take advantage of 10 inch, 1280*800 displays, and according to Digitimes, Google is too busy "resolving other issues" to tend to this little debacle, so Acer had no choice but to delay the device.

The first question that comes to my mind, however, has nothing to do with Acer - but instead, HTC and the Flyer (for those who may not know, the HTC Flyer also sports a 7 inch, 1024*600 display).

Has Samsung Learned? Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Will Ship With Android 3.1

Could Samsung have learned a lesson from the Galaxy S Froyo update shenanigans? The company will be shipping their hottest new device, the Galaxy Tab 10.1, with Honeycomb 3.1 rather than 3.0. No shipping with out-of-date software here - and pretty speedy turnaround, given that Honeycomb 3.1 probably hasn't been available to manufacturers for too long. Then again, the 10.1 doesn't have TouchWiz yet and won't until after release, so there was no custom UI to slow the update.

The news comes from a post on Samsung's Facebook:

And indeed, all official descriptions now show Honeycomb 3.1 rather than 3.0.

[Rumor] Acer To Unveil Intel-Based Honeycomb Tablet At Computex Next Week?

Remember last month when Intel CEO Paul Otellini said that they were actively working on porting Honeycomb to x86 processors with hopes of providing us with Intel powered Honeycomb tablets within the year? Well, it turns out that Acer may unveil the first tablet of the bunch at Computex this year: a 10.1 inch, Oak Trail sporting beast, according to Digitimes.

It's rumored that we could see this yet-unnamed tablet on the streets as early as July, but we'll just have to wait and see how that pans out.

That's really all that's know at this point, but I have a feeling that we should get a lot more info when Computex starts one week from today.

Confirmed: HTC Flyer On Sale At (Some) Best Buy Stores Right Now

That's right, folks - HTC's much-anticipated first Android tablet is up for grabs at Best Buy stores across the U.S. right now. You can pick one of the Wi-Fi only tablets up (note: no stylus included) for a mere $500. A stylus will costs you $80 (yikes), should you so desire one. But consider yourself warned - the Flyer doesn't support handwriting recognition at this point in time, though you could still presumably do all sorts of fun artsy things with it.
