A page from a catalog of the popular UK mobile retailer Carphone Warehouse was recently leaked, and it clearly states the Motorola XOOM 2 will be available in the UK in time for Christmas.

MotorolaXoom2catalogue-728-75

The catalog was intended for the Irish market, and thus the price has been listed in Euros as €399. Generally, prices in Euros and GBP for consumer electronics aren't reflective of exchange rates when attempting to determine a comparable price in the US - we're fairly certain the XOOM 2 will retail for $400 here in the US of A. And as Motorola is an American company (and we've apparently seen the XOOM 2 in Verizon's internal product system), we can probably expect it will launch here a little earlier than in foreign markets.

We try to avoid excessive posts about FCC filings that may or may not be for Android goodies coming to the US, but this one was a dead giveaway for AT&T. Just take a look:

The guys over at WirelessGoodness dug up this picture from a recent FCC filing, and it clearly shows the device is either a Tab 10.1 or 8.9, and that it has the official AT&T 4G LTE logo. Hard to call that a "rumor." It seems likely that AT&T will announce the device before the holiday season.

hi-124-9

Lookout, one of my favorite mobile security apps, received an update today that brings a feature I've wanted since I got my Tab 10.1: tablet support (which, in this case, also includes support for ICS devices). Aside from the malware scanner and backup functionality, one of the most alluring features of Lookout is its find-my-device capability -- a highly useful feature if your device is ever lost or stolen, and a must-have on any tablet.

Since this update was designed with tablet support baked in, it will work on both Wi-Fi only devices and those with cellular data connectivity, providing complete protection regardless of which type of device you own.

After your (possibly over-) enthusiastic response (I kid, I kid; we appreciate your high spirits) to our last giveaway, we decided it would only be appropriate to allow two more readers the chance to win an ASUS Eee Pad Slider. That's right: NVIDIA, in its seemingly infinite awesomeness, has once again been generous enough to sponsor a giveaway of not one, but two 16GB white ASUS Eee Pad Sliders, both powered by a 1GHz dual-core Tegra 2 processor and fueled by a wide variety of games from the Tegra Zone.

The Slider, for those with less-than-ideal memories, is the keyboard-tablet hybrid we reviewed just a few weeks ago.

Can you believe we and NVIDIA have already conducted this many giveaways? It seems like just yesterday we were giving away the Motorola XOOM, and...

Never mind; let's cut to the chase: this time around NVIDIA has been generous enough to sponsor a giveaway of not one, but two white 16GB ASUS Eee Pad Sliders powered by the Tegra 2 processor and fueled by a wide range of available games from the Tegra Zone.

The Slider, for those with less-than-ideal memories, is the keyboard-tablet hybrid we reviewed just a few weeks ago. It's not quite perfect - it is, after all, subject to Honeycomb's shortcomings - but it's still an excellent tablet, especially compared to its Android-based competition.

Android Police coverage: Zimperium Finally Releases 'Anti' For Android, Allows You To Use Penetration Testing Tools On The Go

The days where penetration testers carry around laptops with them to test the security of networks seem to be numbered, with Zimperium's 'Anti' bringing a lot of those tools over from the PC to Android smartphones.

It looks like the HP Touchpad isn't the only tablet to have a bounty placed on its head - Kindle Fire Forum is now offering a substantial reward to the first person who's able to provide a reliable, reversible root method, or either a Honeycomb or Ice Cream Sandwich port for Amazon's Android tablet.

The forum is offering a prize of $200 for a root method, and a whopping $800 for a "Basic" Honeycomb or ICS port. The original post outlines the goals like so:

Reliable Reversable Root Method - This one is self explanatory.

Basic Android Port – The stock Android home screen and apps boot.
