Splinter Cell: Conviction HD Makes A Stop By Gameloft, Still Not On Market

Oh, Gameloft - you and your shenanigans. It looks like they've just released the graphically excellent Splinter Cell: Conviction HD, but not to the market. At the moment, I've only been able to find it directly from Gameloft for $5. Still, if the following YouTube video is any indication, it looks to be one hell of a doozy:

This version of the game is a far cry from the previous Conviction game that was available on the market - whereas that appeared to be a cheap rip-off app, this bad boy reportedly needs over 500 MB and runs like butter.

For those unfamiliar with Conviction, it's a bit different than previous Splinter Cell games - it's more run-'n-gun than you're probably used to.

Dolphin Browser Mini Goes Into Public Beta, Offers Much Faster Performance All Around

Do you feel the need for speed? Apparently you aren't alone, as Dolphin Browser Mini has just gone into public beta on the Market. The app offers numerous improvements over the regular version of Dolphin Browser as well as the HD version, including:

Notably missing? Themes support, one of the features that made the original two Dolphin Browsers so great.

Video Shot By Samsung Nexus S Hits YouTube, Photos Hit Picasa

The Samsung Nexus S has already shown off its camera once, but up until now, we haven't seen what that 5MP shooter's capable of when it comes to video recording. Well the wait is over, as a (portrait) video shot by none other than the GT-i9020 has hit YouTube:

The quality is more or less what we've come to expect from 720p video taken by a cameraphone, though it certainly won't blow any minds. What may blow some minds is the fact that Google apparently has a (pretty nifty) bus of its own, as shown in this photo, which was also captured by the Nexus S:

Hopefully that bus is taking employees to the D: Dive Into Mobile conference, where Google is rumored to be unveiling Gingerbread.

HTC Desire HD Review Roundup: HTC Does It Again

It's not HTC's first 4.3-inch monster of a phone, but according to these early reviews, the Desire HD might just be the best. It would be really hard to say no to its sexy aluminum casing, stunning 8MP camera, and next-generation Snapdragon processor, not to mention all the advantages not immediately visible from its spec sheet. HTC Desire HD & Desire Z Delayed Due To "Google Testing"

Bad news for our European friends: word from retailers is that the releases of the HTC Desire HD and Desire Z have been delayed until the end of the month. Why? The phones seem to be caught up in Google's testing process:

Apparently, both units have failed last minute Google TA (Type Approval) testing which is exactly what was said about the original Desire days before release!

Users from all over Europe (and even an Israeli) on XDA-Devs have confirmed the delay, with the revised release dates varying based on location. In every case, though, the dates are in the latter part of the month.

HTCSense.com Goes Live

Last night, @IncredibleDoes threw a shout out on Twitter to let the world know that HTCSense.com was now live.

While the selection of users and phones that can utilize the service right now is very (more like extremely) limited, it is still exciting to see this coming to fruition. There are devices both upcoming and already out that are slated to receive the new Sense, and it is nothing short of mind-blowing how much functionality they've added.

If you want to go and check it out, go for it. If you don't have a Desire Z or Desire HD, you won't get very far because even after you register, the site prompts you to sign in from your phone.

HTC Sense Will Support Map Pre-Caching In Its Latest Upgrade

Yesterday, Engadget got some hands-on time with the brand new HTC Sense upgrade that will debut on the Desire HD and the Desire Z. It will support all kinds of crazy stuff we've been waiting for like remote wiping, phone location, and backing up to and restoring data from HTCSense.com. Another cool feature is map pre-caching, which means that the phone will have pre-loaded maps on it.

The end result is a much more responsive map experience, allowing you to zoom in and out and pan around with "no waiting". It also means that you don’t need a data connection to get around, a notable foible of the otherwise excellent Google Maps.
