Replacement Daydream View Facepads now sold on the Google Store

Google's Daydream View VR headset was released last year alongside the Pixel phones. One of the headset's features is the removable facepad, which you can hand wash occasionally to keep the headset clean. If something happens to the facepad, or maybe you just want a spare, Google is now selling them separately for $14.99.

Michael Kors smartwatches pulled from Google Store after barely lasting one season

Having been on the Google Store just three and four months, respectively, the Michael Kors Access Bradshaw and Dylan smartwatches are no longer available from Google's online shop. Part of the Fossil Group, the Michael Kors Access line of Android Wear smartwatches were really little more than re-bodied versions of Fossil's latest Q-series watches with slightly different dimensions and battery specs. That they started at $350 probably didn't help things in the sales department.

The watches can still be found on the Michael Kors website, of course, but their removal from the Google Store probably means they're being wound down (no pun intended).

Samsung Chromebook Plus now available on the Google Store for $449, with $20 Google Play credit

Most Chromebooks are inexpensive with lacking hardware, because Chrome OS really doesn't need a lot of power. At the opposite end of that spectrum is the Samsung Chromebook Plus, at a more expensive starting price than most Chromebooks - $449. Now the laptop is available from the Google Store, with a $20 Google Play Store credit included.

Google Store stops selling the Nixon The Mission smartwatch and the Philips Hue Color A19 Starter Kit

Google is constantly adding and removing products to and from the Google Store. With the speed that tech moves along at and the amount of products that the store carries, having to dump older or slower-selling products is inevitable. Earlier today, the LG Watch Style and Sport went up for sale (the Sport is already out of stock, by the way); now, the Nixon The Mission smartwatch and Philips Hue Color A19 Starter Kit, which made their Google Store debuts around four months ago, have been axed.

New Google Artworks Live Cases feature Opening Ceremony designs worn by the New York Ballet

The simulation hypothesis is a scientific proposal that the world in which we live is, in fact, a massive and incredibly complex computer simulation. Many people in the United States are being won over by this theory, because lately it feels like we're all tiny characters in an increasingly cruel game of The Sims, right about the time that the omnipotent player-god gets bored and starts to screw with us. In completely and totally unrelated news, here are some fresh Live Case designs from Google. Enjoy.

LifeProof FRĒ waterproof cases for the Pixel and Pixel XL are now on the Google Store for $90 a pop

Unlike some other flagship phones, Google's Pixel and Pixel XL are not officially water-resistant - their Ingress Protection rating is a mere 53, much less capable than some Samsung and Motorola designs. If you're left feeling a little exposed, LifeProof has a case to sell you. Previously only available on the manufacturer website, the FRĒ series of cases are now being sold on the Google Store alongside the phones themselves. The good news is that the cases have an IP68 rating, meaning they're dust-proof and submersible for up to two hours in 2 meters of water. The bad news is that the cases cost $89.95, for either the Pixel or Pixel XL.

The second-generation Moto 360 has been removed from the Google Store

The original Moto 360 was the smartwatch to have - the first with a round display (barring the 'flat tire'), and one of the first powered by Android Wear. Unfortunately, the lack of an always-on display, the ancient TI OMAP 3 processor, and small battery were sources of frustration for early adopters. The second-generation model fixed many of the original's shortcomings, but it did arrive with a hefty price tag of $300.

[Deal Alert] Daydream View headset price reduced to $49 in the Google Store until February 25th

Google's official VR headset for the Pixel and Pixel XL, the Daydream View, isn't absolutely necessary to enjoy the phones. But since owners have one of the only pieces of hardware on the planet currently compatible with the Daydream platform, it would be a shame to let the opportunity to check it out pass by. Google agrees... or at the very least, they have an overabundance of stock since the initial freebie preorders ran out. At the moment the headset is $30 off on the Google Store.

A second Michael Kors Android Wear model, Access Bradshaw, pops up in the Google Store for $350

Really, Michael Kors? You're calling your new Android Wear-powered smartwatch the "Access Bradshaw"? That sounds like the worst new podcast on the Fox Sports website. Oh well, if you really must - at least it's somewhat consistent with the equally awful name of the Access Dylan. The former is up on the Google Store for the same $350 price as the latter. It's shipping right now, if you're desperate to get into the depressingly shrunken wearables market before the end of the year.

The Huawei Watch departs from the Google Store

With all the uncertainty, I don't imagine Android Wear smartwatches will be a hot item this holiday season. Some people are probably still willing to take a risk, but pickings are getting slim either way. Even though it launched more than a year ago, the Huawei Watch is still considered by many to be the best Android Wear device. It's no longer on sale in the Google Store, though.
