We’ve already compared those two if you’re trying to pick between them.

Google announced the Pixel Buds Pro at Google I/O earlier this month. The premium wireless earbuds are slated to go up for pre-order on July 21st and hit stores a week later on July 28th. They will be available in four colors: Coral, Lemongrass, Fog, and Charcoal. Google is known for launching its products in limited markets and colors outside the US. The story is a bit different here as the Pixel Buds Pro will be launching in 12 countries. Even better is that the various colorways will be available in most of these markets.

Among Google's hardware products, the Pixel Buds have flown somewhat under the radar. First released as a pair of headphones-on-a-string back in 2018, the product was upgraded to truly wireless back in 2020, but endemic connectivity issues prevented the $180 buds from being widely adopted. Google rectified the problem to some extent with the solid-and-affordable Pixel Buds A-Series in the summer of 2021, but people wanting the best wireless earbuds from Google now have something to look forward to: the Pixel Buds Pro.

The first Google Pixel Buds A-series update fixes a volume bug

It was still a good idea to clean your ears

Google did a damn good job of keeping most features of the 2020 Pixel Buds but drastically reducing the price of the Pixel Buds A-series. They still sound pretty good, are quite comfortable to wear, and...still have some static. While a new update is not fixing that, it's getting rid of a pesky volume bug.

Google wants you to know when your Pixel Buds will die

A handy new battery feature has been spotted in testing

Google finally jumped on the wireless earbuds bandwagon last year with the Pixel Buds. While they got things like comfort and sound quality right, they didn't do well in terms of connectivity and battery. While Google isn't completely changing either of those things, it's making it easier in Android 12 to know when your buds will run out of charge.

Google accidentally confirms the name of its new cheap Pixel Buds

Not much mystery left for its as-yet unannounced earbuds

It wouldn't be new hardware from Google without a constant series of escalating leaks. We've known for a while now that a new set of Pixel Buds were in the works, with a budget-friendly price in mind. A promotional email mixup even showed us the new "Forest Green" color before any actual announcement has taken place. Well, you can check another rumor off the list: it seems like Google's next Pixel Buds have a name locked in.

Google's anticipated Pixel Buds successors have been making waves online for a while now, including some appearances in recent FCC filings. We have yet to learn exactly what might set these next-gen buds apart from the pack, but a new acquisition could give us some hints. Google has acquired Dysonics, a startup that specializes in 3D audio.

The Pixel Buds 2 weren't perfect, but for Google's first attempt at true wireless earbuds, there was a lot to love about them. We already knew that Google was hard at work on two new pairs of headphones, courtesy of FCC listings discovered last week. Thanks to a new leak, we have a better idea about the next set of Pixel Buds planned for release later this year.

Truly wireless earbuds are all the rage, and most smartphone manufacturers have launched some of their own over the last few years. Google jumped on the bandwagon with its Pixel Buds 2 last year, and we may see a new pair from the company soon.

Foam earbud tips from Comply are launching soon for the Pixel Buds

Google didn't include active noise cancelation, but these may be the next best thing

When Google released the next-generation Pixel Buds earlier this year, reactions were mixed. The earbuds came equipped with a lot of neat features, but the basic experience was subpar, with glitchy Bluetooth connections and a fit that couldn't be called the most comfortable in the world. Now a new accessory coming to the Google Store may help alleviate that last concern, as Comply is bringing its fancy foam ear tips to Pixel Buds.

The second-generation Pixel Buds may not be the best wireless earphones out there, but there's still a lot to love about them, especially if you use a Pixel phone. If you've been thinking of buying them, now would be a good time: Best Buy, B&H, and the Google Store are selling them for $160 ($20 off).

The latest Google Pixel Buds update fixes a very annoying problem

Version 552 addresses audio cutouts that happen every 110 seconds

Google's second try at wireless earbuds is going a lot better than its first attempt, but that doesn't mean the Pixel Buds are perfect. Users have complained of issues like random disconnects and audio cutting out from the start. Google tried to address some of these bugs in last month's feature drop, and now the company is rolling out a new firmware update that should fix a very specific kind of audio cutout.

Google released the second generation of its Pixel Buds earlier this year in the US. Despite being a significant step forward from the first gen, there were still numerous issues that make them hard to recommend. Now they're getting a little better thanks to new features to help find misplaced earbuds — and they aren't the only Fast Pair-enabled accessories showing up in the Find My Device app.

The Pixel Buds have only just launched in Canada, the UK, and many more international markets, but the good news don't stop there: Google promises a feature drop update to the true wireless earbuds, according to information the company relayed to Forbes. Along with unspecified new capabilities, the update is supposed to finally fix the notorious audio cut out problems the Buds are plagued with, which Google already promised a month ago.

Cody saw the signs for its impending release a couple weeks back, and now it's live. Double-tap to advance tracks on the Pixel Buds is apparently working in the tediously-long firmware version 1.1767.6040.G1-61495-545, according to 9to5Google.

The Pixel Buds mark Google's first foray into personal wireless audio. I won't make you wait: it's not gone well.

Now that Google's phones are ditching the headphone jack, it only makes sense that the company wants to sell you some expensive Bluetooth earbuds. At the press event today, Google announced the 'Pixel Buds', a pair of earbuds with Assistant built-in.
