We've already seen two pretty major updates to Google apps today, with Translate's offline language packs and Movies getting info cards. Some smaller updates were also pushed out to a few other apps as well – namely Sound Search, Offers, and PrimeTime for Google TV. Since the latter's the most notable (in terms of what's in the update, that is), let's start there.

The PrimeTime app for Google TV brings a few new things by adding support for Amazon Prime content, as well as a subscription selector for Netflix, HBOGO, and Prime. So, basically, more ways to get content.

Past that, Offers brings but one small enhancement: notifications of saved offers nearby.

Google Currents is not the only Android app the company updated today as many first-party apps saw relatively minor updates through the Play Store this afternoon. Basically, the next time you check your app list be prepared to wait on those updates to download.

If you are one of the few still using a Google TV device, the PrimeTime and TV Search apps have been updated. PrimeTime comes with bugfixes and faster access to the channel guide. TV Search should be faster and less prone to crashes. On the phone side of things, Shopper has a shiny new UI and performance enhancements.

If Google's Groupon competitor Offers is available in your area, then you you'll be happy to know that the companion app to the service has just been released to the Android Market. The app allows you to find and buy the best deals in your area on-the-go, as well as notify you about deals that match your interests and allow you to purchase and redeem them instantly.

Google Shopper - an app that uses your phone's camera to locate products and prices on the web - received an update today that brings about some new features, as well as an interface overhaul. In an effort to streamline the experience, tabs have been added to the bottom of the app that highlight some of the newest features of Shopper, and the 'starred' and 'history' buttons are now located at the top.

Among the new tabs along the bottom is "Today's Offer" - part of Google Offers - which shows a single offer for specific products or services in certain areas: Portland, OR;  the San Francisco Bay Area, the recently added New York City.

A few days ago, we told you that Google was most likely going to announce a mobile payment service using NFC. Today, that announcement is official, and it's called Google Wallet. Wallet is exactly what the name suggests: a payment service that aggregates all of your credit cards, coupons, loyalty cards, and more, into your Android phone. You can then not only use your phone to pay, but it will also enter your customer loyalty information automatically, as well as redeem any coupons that are loaded into your Wallet using NFC (near field communication).

Here are a few bullets about Wallet, how it works, and what to expect:

  • This service is going to officially launch this summer, but a beta program is already underway in San Francisco and NYC.
