There's no denying that AirDroid is one of the most powerful and useful applications available for Android today, and with version 2 in the works, it's about to get even better. But the thing is, v2 is going to be in private beta testing for the next three months. That's a long time to wait to get in on the action.
Fortunately, the AirDroid dev reached out to us last night and offered up a little goodie for our readers: 20 invites into the beta program. The first round of invites is expected to go out early this week, with only 125 users gaining access into the program.
We all love those little Android figurines that come from the mind of Andrew Bell, and with Christmas coming up, that can only mean one thing: a holiday Android! I'd like you all to meet Frankie Frost.
Look at him, all frosty and cute - you know you want one. Or two. They're on sale now for $10 a pop, so you can always head over to the Dead Zebra Shop and order one up.
Or you can try to win one here. We have five to give away, so here's how to throw your hat in the ring.
This morning, Gen announced the newest addition to the Andru family: Chill. He's a relaxed little guy with a good demeanor. On the other side of the fence, though, is his cousin, Andru Dark. He's the wicked one of the bunch, with red glowing eyes and an appetite for destruction. Then there's the original Andru - the old, wise one. He's figured out the balance between good and evil, and is just happy to be included.
Regardless of which one strikes your fancy, there's one thing all three are good at: juicing up your devices. At the end of the day, all three of these little guys exist to serve you and provide power to all your Android gadgets.
When trying to decide on a new device, most people spend a lot of time comparing various models. How does product X stack up against product Y? Which one offers the most bang for the buck? Which is going to stay relevant the longest? There are so many things to take into consideration - it's quite an overwhelming task.
Thankfully, Sortable.com is there to assist you in the quest for a new gadget. Regardless of whether it's a camera, phone, tablet, laptop, or TV, you can compare all of the most popular products in each class against each other to really figure out which one is the best for you.
In the spirit of Halloween, let's give some stuff away! It's about treats after all - isn't it? And what better treat is there than free gadgets?
Since this is a Halloween giveaway, let's talk about the undead for a moment, shall we? In fact, let's get specific - let's talk about killing the undead with an assault vehicle made for mowing 'em down. Sound familiar? It should, because I'm talking about the newly released Tegra-exclusive title Zombie Driver.
It's like Twisted Metal with zombies. If that doesn't get your motor running, then you aren't human. In which case you're probably undead, and we'll have to slaughter you.
It's time again for another shirt giveaway and sale! Last time around we gave out five of these crowd-favorite shirts. Today, we're back with ten more! If you don't want to miss out, though, LOL Shirts is also running a sale on thesethreeshirts. Enter coupon code 4OFFNOW to knock $4 off the normal price ($12.99). Not a bad deal.
The contest is now over. Here are the winners, chosen at random:
Congratulations - you will be contacted for your information in the near future!
Have you heard? The fourth AnDevCon (Android Developer Conference) is happening on December 4-7 in the SF Bay area. And with more than 80 classes and workshops, this will be the biggest one yet. There will be sessions held by reps from some of the industry's leading companies, including Groupon, Intel, Facebook, and, of course, Google.
AnDevCon IV will offer one day of intensive workshops, followed by three days of technical classes. More than 1,500 software developers, engineers, and entrepreneurs from 40 nations are projected to attend and choose from 70+ classes to bring Android open source development to a high level.
For many people, cases and mounts are a part of life with a mobile device. The problem is, however, that many users aren't willing to sacrifice style for functionality. What if you could have both, though? Thanks to a new product from Rokform for the Galaxy S III, that's more possible than ever.
The Rokbed for the GSIII is Rokform's first endeavor outside the iOS world, and it looks like they hit it out of the part. The case itself features an edgy-yet-sophisticated design, as well as a bit of additional functionality: a magnet that allows the case to attach to other available accessories.
You know who loves giving stuff away as much as we do? Handy Apps. They're always down with offering up some cool gear to hand out, and today, we have a couple of 16GB Nexus 7s for two lucky readers. One of them could be you!
Photo Wall FX - Live Wallpaper
So, what's the occasion? The release of their new app Photo Wall FX! PWFX is a neat take on the live wallpaper. Instead of having some fancy floating junk, some sort of nifty little interactive crap, or whatever else most LWPs offer these days, Photo Wall FX uses your images in a sort-of collage.
Winners have been selected, and will be contacted shortly. They are:

Thanks to everyone who entered!
Do you like portable speakers? Do you like free things? Then have we got a mashup for you - because Android Police and Braven are giving away two of the awesome Braven 600 portable Bluetooth speakers. I loved the 600 when I reviewed it. It's solidly put together, and the sound it produces definitely belies its price tag.
