[Leak] Gingerbread Build EP4P For The Samsung Droid Charge

Ah, the Droid Charge -- the Droid that never should have been. It was the first LTE Droid to hit Verzon and... well, its accomplishments stopped there. In fact, this once-flagship device is still running Froyo, rendering some of its hardware basically useless (like the front facing camera). Fortunately, Gingerbread may be just around the corner for those who bought into the Charge hype, as a new leaked build just landed on MyDroidWorld, courtesy of P3Droid.

While there isn't a changelog of any type, the leak does comes in a variety of options: stock, not rooted; stock, rooted; stock, deodexed, rooted; and deodexed, debloated, rooted.

LG Revolution Support Documents Updated, Gingerbread Update Should Start Rolling Out Today

It seems like it was just yesterday when I mentioned that LG should tend to the Revolution's lack of Gingerbread, and here it is. Verizon just updated the Revolution's support documentation with all the details of the upcoming update, which includes Android 2.3.x.

The update offers little outside of the bump up to Android 2.3.x (which is a wonderful upgrade in itself), but it does bring a few fixes dealing with Email and messaging, as well as a handful of general device enhancements.

The update should start rolling out today and be complete by mid-next week. Enjoy, Revolution owners!

[Updated] Exclusive: Gingerbread Build 2.11.605.5 For The HTC Thunderbolt, Fixes Several Issues From Official Gingerbread OTA

Update: Well, what do you know -- Verizon just updated the support documentation for the Tbolt to reflect the newest build... and it just so happens to be 2.11.605.5. Yep, the exact same as this build. Looks like this is the official OTA, folks. Check out the full changelog here.

Thunderbolt owners have been waiting a long while to get Gingerbread -- too long, considering this phone was once Verizon's flagship. We've seen several leaked builds come around, all of which experienced a variety of problems. The most recent leak seemed to be the most stable so far, but it was still chock-full of annoying little bugs.

Gingerbread Gets Rugged - Now Available For The Casio G'zOne Commando

If your rough-and-rugged style made the Casio G'zOne your perfect Android counterpart, then we have good news for you: Gingerbread is on its way to your little tank-of-a-phone right now.

The updates is rolling out in typical OTA fashion, and brings a few new features and fixes to the device (aside from Gingerbread, of course):

Screen will brighten upon touch when phone is docked during a voice call
Proximity sensor accurately senses presence during a voice call
Auto-signature can be enabled within SMS/MMS messages (but on behalf of everyone in the world, I would like to ask that you don't use this feature.

New Nexus S 2.3.6 OTA Update Rolling Out (GRK39F), Reportedly Fixes Tethering - Here Is How To Install It Manually

A few weeks ago, a GSM Nexus S update 2.3.6 (GRK39C) with voice search fixes started rolling out, but it was immediately discovered to break Wi-Fi and USB tethering. After many complaints, Google pulled the OTA, and it seems like they've spent the last couple of weeks making sure everything works as expected.

A new update surfaced tonight, also numbered 2.3.6, but this time bearing build GRK39F. While there is no official changelog, based on the fact that an update with the same exact build hit the Nexus One a few days ago and didn't break tethering, I think it's safe to say it fixes at least that issue (Update: thanks to our buddy Omar for an additional confirmation of working tethering).

Updated: Experiencing Issues After Updating Your Sprint LG Optimus S To Gingerbread? Here Are Some Potential Workarounds

On September 14, Sprint revealed that an update to Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) was rolling out for the LG Optimus S. Seems like a good thing, right? Not so fast, actually - it turns out there are some fairly substantial bugs that weren't worked out before rolling out the update. Sprint is aware of the keyboard issue but has yet to acknowledge the other problems users seem to be experiencing, such as issues charging and using USB storage.

Update: Sprint pulled the Gingerbread update for the time being.

We've already had over 150 comments relating to the update, issues, and potential fixes, so I thought it would be a good idea to compile some of the suggestions into a post.

Rogers Galaxy S Captivate Receives Its Gingerbread Update

Yesterday, we started receiving reports that the official Gingerbread update (reportedly version 2.3.3) for the Samsung Galaxy S Captivate on Rogers is finally here.

The update isn't showing up on Rogers' own website yet (under the Support tab), but if you go through Samsung's Kies upgrade software (go here, click Support, then Download), you should find it sitting in plain view, itching to jump over to your device.

Galaxy S users, if you've upgraded, let us know how it went and if you experienced any issues.

[Exclusive Download] Gingerbread Build 2.11.605.3 Full RUU And New Radio For HTC ThunderBolt

Yeah, we know -- it has only been three days since we leaked Gingerbread build 2.11.605.2 RUU for the TBolt, but how could we say no when our homie Justin Case from TeamAndIRC asked us if we want to drop a newer leak?

We couldn't. So here you go -- Gingerbread Build 2.11.605.3 for the HTC ThunderBolt. The installation process is basically identical to the previous leak, so if you've already flashed that, then this should be a breeze. For those who want it, we've also included a separate download of the radio; if you plan on flashing the full RUU, though, you can ignore this file as it's already included.

[Leak] Android 2.3.5 Now Available For The Samsung Infuse 4G And Galaxy S 4G

Owners of the Samsung Galaxy S 4G on T-Mobile or the Samsung Infuse 4G on AT&T have been waiting quite a while to leave Froyo behind and move into the world of Gingerbread. While Sammy and AT&T or T-Mobile have yet to drop the flag on an official OTA for either device, the good folks over at SamFirmware have released leaked versions of Android 2.3.5 for both devices.

Since these are leaked, there's not much of a changelog floating around, nor is there any indication of whether or not this is a final build. What we do know, though, is that these are made to be flashed with ODIN, so if you're not familiar with that process, you should probably do a bit of research first.

Exclusive Download: Gingerbread Build 2.11.605.2 RUU For The HTC ThunderBolt

At the beginning of the month, HTC announced that it would be bringing Gingerbread to the Droid Incredible and ThunderBolt. While that promised has been fulfilled for the former, there's been nary a word of the status of the update for the latter. Until now.

Thanks to our anonymous tipster known only as Pig Benis, we have an official Gingerbread RUU hot of the presses for the HTC ThunderBolt.

Our tipster isn't positive if this is the final build or not, but considering it's so close to the end of the month, it is very likely.

Using this RUU will wipe all data on your device!
