In a way, Angry Birds and Star Wars are a match made in heaven. Both properties are immensely popular, and neither is a stranger to merchandising. That's why the concept of Angry Birds Star Wars is neither surprising nor difficult to grasp.

Contra: Evolution Updated With Support For 'High-Resolution Devices' And Fewer Permissions

2013-08-22 23.04.35

Contra: Evolution can now be installed on virtually any Android device. It was a little bizarre that it didn't allow tablet installations seeing as a number of the phones it supported were higher resolution than some tablets.

[New Game] LEGO DUPLO Train Offers Kid-Friendly Construction With No Ads, External Links, Or In-App Purchases

We like to feature at least one or two kid-friendly games in our biweekly roundups, but this one looks so good that we had to give it its own post. LEGO DUPLO is the famous company's line of brick sets for kids age 5 and under, with easy formations, bright colors, and big, swallow-proof pieces. The Android DUPLO game focuses on the branded train sets.

The game itself is a mix between LEGO's standard construction and a sort of "baby's first train simulator." Kids will start and stop the LEGO train, hook up passenger and cargo cars, and build bridges and tracks to avoid simple obstacles.

[New Game] Asphalt 8 Launches In Google Play, Brings Fast Cars And In-App Purchases

The newest incarnation of Gameloft's racing franchise, Asphalt 8: Airborne has hit Google Play. In addition to the standard race mechanics, this title will encourage players to pull off high-speed aerial stunts. Yeah, it is not a terribly realistic racing game.

Gameloft is really piling on the pretty with this one. The environments are huge, and there are more reflections and lighting effects than you can shake a gear shift at.

[New Game] Contra: Evolution Bursts Into Google Play, Guns Blazing

Anyone who played video games in the late 80s and early 90s probably lost at least one frustrating afternoon to the original Contra. This run-and-gun shooter was the archetype for innumerable games that were to follow. Now Contra has been spruced up and deployed in Google Play to taunt you all over again.

Electronic Arts And Mythic Studio Will Bring The Classic Game Dungeon Keeper To Android Later This Year

Dungeon Keeper came out in the late 90s and captured many a gamer's heart. It was a little bit strategy, a little bit tower defense, and a lot of fun. Middle Manager Of Justice Review: Managing Superheroes Is Surprisingly Super-Fun

A superhero is likely to have various powers suitable for defeating the forces of evil and causing a ton of collateral damage. You know, leaping tall buildings, conjuring fireballs, and so on. But can they fill out health insurance forms? Collate printouts? Can a superhero – no matter how powerful – navigate the murky waters of human resource complaints? The answer to all these questions is no. The venerable middle manager is the only one with these skills, and now you can slip on the sensible shoes of such an individual and manage a branch of Justice Corp.
