A long time ago in a galaxy far away, a wise old man once said, "let go your conscious self and act on instinct." Little did we know at the time Obi-wan was not just talking about using The Force, but about playing the game Duet. This title just came to Android as part of the Humble Mobile Bundle 6 last week, and a few days later it arrived in the Play Store.

In what will surely be a crushing blow to at least four, maybe five gamers across the globe, Sony has announced that it is ending support for its branded PlayStation Mobile game store and platform. If you'll recall, that's the app and control setup that is (or was) exclusive to Xperia phones and tablets, plus a few select models from HTC and Sharp. In a statement posted to the Japanese PlayStation website, the company said that devices running versions of Android past 4.4.3 would not be supported.

So here you are on another Monday, the week stretching out before you into infinity. Will Friday ever arrive? Maybe and maybe not. Until we find out, you can occupy yourself with these apps and games, which are on sale for a pittance. They won't alter the flow of time to make it Friday, but at least you'll save some money.

July saw the release of what's probably the biggest (or at the very least, the most high-profile) game of the year: Modern Combat 5. You can check out Ryan's review here, but there are a lot of other entries to Android's game catalog that you should consider playing. Our top seven picks from this month are below, in no particular order, with honorable mentions thrown in as well. Students, load up on them so you'll have something to play in class on the bus.

Okay, we had an app sales post earlier today, but something just popped up that we felt was worthy of its own emergency sales post in case we don't get another full sales roundup ready before it's gone. Monument Valley, easily one of the coolest games to grace Android in... well, ever... is on sale for $2.49. Update: It's $1.99 now. Are you buying it?

A game isn't good just because it has no in-app purchases, but it certainly helps. There are a few games included in today's roundup and none of them have in-app purchases. Neat, right? You'll have to judge the goodness on your own.
