The Penny Arcade Expo, better known as PAX, has been doing its thing in various cities for ten years now. If you haven't heard of it, it's basically a tiny microcosm of video game trade shows put on with the intention of welcoming actual gamers and fans instead of press or investors. The Expo is put on by the creators of the long-running Penny Arcade web comic and their team, hence the name.

The Play Store has a ton of apps and games, often at very reasonable prices. Still, we live in a world where apps are priced very low, sometimes to the point that people scoff at paying even $0.99 for something. Developers can't just give it away, but they can occasionally drop the price to entice those of you on the fence. So stop with the indecisiveness, and buy some stuff that's on sale.

Not every Kickstarter campaign is doomed to failure—occasionally you get something like Back to Bed, a new puzzle game that was Kickstarted back in spring 2013. It has just arrived on Android with a really cool visual style and interesting narcolepsy-based gameplay.

The Humble Sega Mobile Bundle kicked things off last week with a collection of six games the publisher has released into the Play Store over the years. For any price, buyers could get ChuChu Rocket, Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1, and Virtua Tennis Challenge. Those who beat the average were rewarded with Crazy Taxi, Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing, and Episode 2 of Sonic 4. Now, right on schedule, three additional apps have made their way into the bundle.

Normally when we see one of these pay-what-you-want Android game bundles, they come to us from the good ol' reliable Humble Bundle folks. This time around, we're looking at a package of games available from StackSocial.

There are seven games total, though you have to beat the average to get more than two of them. It currently sits at just over $4, but it's sure to rise over the course of the next thirteen days.

You know what collectible card battle games are missing? Math. Well, that's not strictly true: your standard Magic clone includes a lot of math, but it usually doesn't go much further than counting. The new Android game Calculords is a mixture of the standard card battle formula, lane-based strategy, and some grade school arithmetic. It made quite a splash on iOS a few months ago, and it looks like the Android translation is just about perfect.

Update 8/21/14: Following Amazon's lead, the same $0.99 sale is now live on the Play Store.

play store cartoon network

The Amazon Appstore seems to be flooding with deals lately, giving us more and more reasons to use it (or at least consider installing it next to the Play Store). After the massive $100 apps and games that went free ten days ago, today's deals affect all of Cartoon Network's games - well, all but one - and discount them to $0.99.
