Chances are you're one of the everyone-on-the-planet who's played Words With Friends. Did you know there's other, shall we say, homages to classic board games available for your Android phone? For example, here we have Pictionary Draw Something, a turn-based, doodle-guessing game that you can play with friends wherever they are.

Draw Something has more than a few similarities to crowd-favorite Words With Friends. You're able to add your friends or join a game with a random player, and play multiple games at once. Games are also turn-based, so you can create a doodle and let your partner ...

Osmos HD

Osmos HD, by Hemisphere Games, made its jump to the Android Market in late January, and brought with it some insanely relaxing gameplay. It was previously available on computer and iDevices, so you may have played it before it became available on Android. However, if you haven't played it already, the concept is ridiculously simple, but oh-so awesome.

Basically, you control a tiny little lifeform called a 'mote', and aim to consume or avoid being consumed by other 'motes.' It may sound odd, and way too simple to be fun, but that's just not the case. The ...

You're a robot scout in space. Your name is iDaTank. You're relaxing, enjoying a nice day of whatever it is robots do on their One Fine Day off, when suddenly you get a transmission! There's a sequence of unidentified signals out in space! Since you're a robot, you are concerned with such things. So, the adventure begins to track down the source of the signal. And it had been such a fine day...

iDaTank may suffer from a bit of Engrish, but gameplay is pretty unique. You play on a very, very small 3D world. You travel around on your ...

Meet Yello, a fish that was probably named by a two-year-old because the child thought he looked vaguely yellowish and he doesn't really know how to spell. He also doesn't quite understand how fish breathe, because he's rather sadistically yanked Yello from his bowl for "a walk." It's up to you to save Yello... by yanking on his tail and flinging him into piles of things until he eventually lands in his bowl.

Did we mention you get to set Yello on fire, too? Yeah, it's awesome.

The game will feel familiar to anyone who's played Angry Birds (read: all ...

Augmented reality has spent years in the "great idea, not quite there yet" bin, right next to motion controlled TVs and self-driving cars. Of course, what's the best way to improve a fledgling technology? Stick a trigger on it and let people shoot things with it. The Xappr is here to bring that essential step to the evolution of AR technology.

Better late than never! Steam announced a brand new app today for Android that allows users to chat with their friends, participate in Steam's thriving online community groups, and buy games from the Steam Library. You may have heard of Anomaly Warzone Earth HD before, and while it isn't new to Android, it is new to the Android Market. 11 Bit Studios released this game exclusively into the Amazon Appstore some months ago, but now it's fully out in the open for everyone else to enjoy. What's so great is that this game is both fresh and entirely unique. Hearing that about a title coming out of the tower defense genre sounds weird, right?

Welcome to the weekly roundup of the best new Android applications, games, and live wallpapers that went live in the Market or were spotted by us in the previous 2 months or so.

This edition focuses only on new tablet apps or ones that added Honeycomb support. Regular apps and games are coming soon.

The amount of tablet-centric apps in the last few weeks has been abysmal, so I decided to skip the tablet roundup a few times.

Yesterday Steam launched its brand new app for Android. Unfortunately, the app is still in closed beta and many users are waiting with bated breath for their invites to show up. If you're among the unwashed masses waiting for your golden ticket, we’ve got you covered. Don’t worry, though. You're not missing out on too much.

The Basics

Let's get the obvious out of the way first: you won't be playing any games with this app. While users might hope for an OnLive-type setup that allows players to stream games over a network, Steam is still a ways off from ...

It looks like it has been pulled from the Market (we're not entirely sure why, but it probably has to do with copyright violation). Fret not - we've got the apk for you to download right here.

Seeing as Bomberman has been perennially resurrected since its 1983 release, chances are extremely high that you've played some variation of the game in your lifetime. Now, if you're like me, you seriously jones for some Bomberman action from time to time, and are only satisfied once you renter the Bomber Nebula to blow your way through mazes. Now you can carry ...

Nvidia's CES press conference featured a few people playing Shadowgun together, which was a little puzzling, because currently that's impossible. It turns out they were showing off a new version: Shadowgun: Deadzone. The cool new thing about Deadzone, if you haven't guessed by now, is multiplayer support.

Deadzone is bringing all kinds of bells and whistles to the Shadowgun series. It supports 8 player online multiplayer, gamepads, and voice chat. I think that puts it on par with full-on console gaming. You also get a few new toys to impress your friends with: there's new sprint and roll ...
