The Adventures of Tintin is certainly one of the most enduring comic book series, making its debut in 1929, and finally finding its way to the silver screen in 2011. Gameloft has expanded Tintin's domain recently, by releasing The Adventures of Tintin into the Android Market, bringing the wunderkind's sleuthing prowess and action-infused storyline to the palm of your hand.

The game looks to be a fun interpretation of the film adventure, tying in the characters we love from the original comics and a familiar storyline that's been adapted for the big screen.

Interestingly, the game has multiple playable characters, from Tintin to Snowy to Captain Haddock, adding a new dimension to the gameplay that helps it stand out from your average movie tie-in games.

It looks like Gameloft has done it again, cooking up an awesome new game for Android. The makers of such hits as BackStab, and the N.O.V.A. series, released today the first official launch trailer for their new game - Modern Combat 3: Fallen Nation.

The Modern Combat series is one of the "most acclaimed FPS games on Android," bringing polished, action-packed, first person gameplay to the palm of your hand. The series aims to immerse the player in a "modern war experience," taking you to detailed, polished environments, and providing you with plenty of challenges, along with enough weapons to get the job done effectively.

As part of a special Halloween promotion, Gameloft is offering two of its premium titles (as well as Uno) on the Android Market for a paltry $0.99 each for a "limited time." We assume this means until Halloween, but Gameloft's app descriptions don't specify.

Order And Chaos is the largest (and really only) MMORPG on Android, and with your $0.99 purchase you'll receive a free 3 month game subscription, after which you'll have to pay a monthly fee to continue accessing the game. Order And Chaos recently suffered a security breach, compromising numerous players' accounts, and the sale may be an attempt to mitigate some of the fallout from that gaff.

If you haven't played Dungeon Defenders, and you own an Android phone or tablet with a Tegra 2 or other dual-core processor, you're missing out. The highly popular tower defense RPG was updated today, though "update" probably doesn't do the changes Trendy Entertainment made to the hit title justice, because it's more like a content and UI overhaul.

Trendy has long promised an update from "First Wave" to "Second Wave," and had promised more content, as well as major changes to the look and feel of the UI. They've done just that. Here's the (very, very condensed) changelog:

What's in this version:

  1. 6.9 Fixed Installer Crash
  2. 6.7 We've changed everything!!!

Gameloft just pushed the third iteration of its Let's Golf HD series to the Android Market for the low price of free. For those uninitiated with Let's Golf, here's the nuts-and-bolts: you get to play golf in some outrageous places, like outer space or the Great Wall of China. Despite its cartoonish nature, it's quite graphically detailed -- everything from the green to the surrounding details is bright, vivid, and detailed.

Aside from the typical golf gameplay, Let's Golf has some nice features, like multiplayer support so you can you play against your friends, either locally over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, or even all on the same device.

Duke Nukem 3D Home

OK, we don't have much that we can show you yet, but I think the title sends the message. Ass kicking. Bubble gum chewing. Balls of steel. That's right kids, Duke Nukem is headed to Android in all his state-of-the-art-in-1991 3D glory. Don't believe us? We have visual proof (and a press release!):

Duke Nukem 3D Fight Scene

Damn, you're ugly. Probably because you're from an iOS screenshot.

Of course, this port has been out for some time on iOS, but the developer behind it (MachineWorks Northwest) has been hard at work to get the title on Android. We know it's coming very soon, but we don't have an exact date at this point.

Update: While the app has been updated and will install on all devices now (if they meet performance and memory requirements), please test for functionality using the demo version, here.

Here it is, Minecraft: Pocket Edition for Android - and it's no longer monopolized by Sony's XPERIA Play, as had been the case for the past several months.

This should work on your Android phone or tablet (Honeycomb included!), so get going! We haven't confirmed that it works on all Android devices, but this is the release we previously said would be coming to bring support to virtually every major Android phone.

World of Goo, by indie developer 2D Boy, is a highly addictive physics-based puzzle/construction game that has won several design and gaming awards since its release. The basic objective of the game is to get a requisite number of goo balls to a pipe, which represents the exit. The goo balls can be used to make bridges, towers, and other structures to overcome gravity and terrain. Currently, the game is available on a number of platforms, including Windows, Mac OS X, Linux, iOS, and Wii; and earlier today 2D Boy announced that the game would finally be coming to Android tablets and smartphones "soon."

Rubicon Development has just released Great Little War Game, a turn-based strategy game, promising intuitive gameplay and a unique visual twist.

GLWG has a ton of different environments, multiplayer capability, and openFeint achievements, making it a dynamic game with certain replay value.

Adding to the elements you may expect in a turn-based strategy game, Great Little War Game is styled in an almost cartoonish, comical way while still offering big guns and explosions.

The games unique fusion of cutesy visual style and robust turn-based strategy give it a strange appeal, and for $2.99, it's pretty reasonable for a game that offers great replay value and a nice strategy experience.

Popular Android game developer HandyGames has released a sequel to its well received Guns'n'Glory tower defence game called Guns'n'Glory WW2. The original Guns'n'Glory was a Wild West themed game that put you in charge of mobile units which you had to place in strategic position in order to ambush settlers, stagecoaches and "the gold train". The original game took the concept of a tower defence game and put an intriguing spin on it by allowing the enemy units to fight back. So, what makes a great game that much better? Why a World War 2 themed sequel, of course!

Building on the popularity of the original game, HandyGames has wisely not made any significant changes to the sequel Guns'n'Glory WW2, save for an updated setting and improved graphics and gameplay.
