GBikes by Unchained Developers is a futuristic racing game that recently hit the Android Market. It features fast-paced, high adrenaline gameplay, along with some pretty stunning graphics. In terms of relativity, think Wipeout. This game is dangerously similar to the entire Wipeout series, but fortunately it is well-made and worth playing. There is, however, definitely room for improvement.

Gameplay

If you're looking for deep gameplay, this game simply does not have it, but that really isn't what titles like these aim for. Basically, we play games like these to race some anti-gravity crotch rockets at break-neck speeds, right? Well look no further, because GBikes has you covered with several different high-speed races across 6 worlds.

Update: For those who don't have access to the Amazon Appstore (or even those who do and prefer not to use it), this game just landed in the Android Market. Go blow some stuff up.

Tower defense. Tower defense. Tower defense. There's definitely no shortage of TD-style games for Android. Don't' get me wrong - TD games are great. There are just a ton of them. Game development firm 11 Bit Studios must've realized that, too, so they went to the lab and carved away at their popular tower offense title Anomaly Warzone Earth and brought it to Android.

If you were part of the PC gaming scene in the late 1990's and early 2000's, you almost certainly played Counter-Strike at some point. It was the online first-person shooter (of course, Doom III was around as well), and was essentially a modified runtime of Valve's popular sci-fi FPS Half-Life. Later iterations of the game like Condition Zero and Counter-Strike: Source lacked the magic which made the first game so addictive, and so the series has essentially been undergoing a slow death over the last few years.

But if there's one platform that has shown it can revive a seemingly dead game, it's the smartphone.

Introduction

Half Breed, by iNoko Studios, is an alien-themed shooter that just landed on the Android Market today. As the title indicates, you play the role of a mysterious being who wakes up to find that he is now half-man and half-alien. If that wasn't enough, this creature has a whole arsenal of crazy powers, and is bent on seeking revenge against the people who made him this way.

Gameplay

There are two different game modes in Half Breed, story and multiplayer. Unfortunately, multiplayer isn't true online gameplay, as the only way to take advantage of it is to play with a friend over a Wi-Fi connection.

Stanislav Merezhko recently introduced a game called Doptrix to the Android Market. I have to say that at first glance, I wasn't expecting anything brilliant. I was mistaken.

Doptrix turns Tetris-like gameplay on its head, literally. The game uses a familiar four-block shape pushing premise, but allows the player to turn, rotate, and flip the game board as they choose. The player can also choose when (and from what position) a shape launches toward the board.

Taking this unique gameplay to another level, Doptrix includes three modes of play: Classic, Alternative, and Puzzle. Classic mode uses familiar Tetris shapes, and allows the player to move them left or right before swiping them up to the game board.

Remember SoulCraft THD, the awesome action RPG game we mentioned last month? Well, the open beta finally hit the Android Market today, bringing angels, demons, apocalypse, and rich, realistic environments to your Tegra device. Check out the video below for a taste of the action:

SoulCraft THD allows you to play as an angel (with human and demon options coming later), taking part in a compelling story, set at a time when humans are on the brink of discovering the secret of eternal life.

The game takes players through several real (and realistic) locations including Venice, Rome, and Hamburg (with more locations coming soon), using weapons and spells to battle "lots of different and diversified enemies" as you decide who will win this epic war.

Imagine leading a team of highly trained special-ops on a mission to save the world from an evil villain bent on mass destruction. Now imagine those trained professionals have incredible super powers that make them unstoppable. What could possibly make that scenario more awesome? Super seals, that's what. Roll that all into one and you have the premise behind Seal Force, a unique line-drawing game by Nordisk Film Interactive unlike anything else I have ever come across.

First Things First

As I stated before, I have never seen a game quite like this one before. I've played quite a few mobile games and have yet to play an action line-drawing one.

I've had an odd interest in the undead for as long as I can remember, and I could make a hipster-esque statement and say that I thought zombies were badass long before anyone else did, but I won't go that far. I've been planning for some sort of zombie apocalypse for quite a while now, so if anything starts to go down, you'll probably be safe with me. Needless to say, I'm also in love with any sort of zombie game and when one comes my direction, it goes up against hard criticism. That being said, Dead on Arrival by N3V Games scores some pretty high marks overall.

In the ever-expanding world of Kairosoft's Story games, another entry just made its way into the Android Market. This go around it's all about designing your own mall, complete with food court and storefronts. There are several options in place to make your mall the top-dog of them all - you can even add a helipad on top!

Once your facility hits a certain level of popularity, a "fever" will strike the patrons and your mall will be swamped with new business. After you're well established, invest some money in surrounding areas and bring in even more business.

The game is $4.99 in the Android Market; hit the link below and start building your way to mall fame!

While it was by the narrowest of margins that Shadowgun won a plurality of the votes (32% - see below), it's not hard to see why - truly amazing graphics, great over the shoulder gameplay, and console-level polish made it clear from the day we first saw screenshots of this game that it was going to do big things.
