As gamers, we've all become familiar with the tie-in title. These are usually released in conjunction with a movie or TV show to widen its exposure, and historically they're usually pretty sub-par.

However, Disney's Wreck-It Ralph subverts this trope because it's in the unique position of being based off of video games. That's kind of hard to mess up.

Wreck-It Ralph is a series of three (soon to be four) arcade games that feature characters and environments from the movie.

For all the shooters and racing games that mobile fans see, there's another subset that seems specifically made for the touch environment. "Zen" games are popular because they're relatively simple, can be played in short bursts to cure boredom, and ultimately allow their audience to sit back and relax. Pixel Twist fulfills all three of those criteria.

Pixel Twist starts off quite simple: you're given an exploded view of an image, like a lime, painting or game controller, and by moving the camera around you can line up the pixels so that they form a complete picture.

Partnered with Fat Pebble, Zynga officially launched Clay Jam for iOS and Android today, bringing to market a game made entirely of clay. Charged with the mission of saving the land of Clay Jam, players control a ball of clay called Fat Pebble as he rolls down hills collecting clay, avoiding obstacles, and maneuvering about using a "gouge control system."

Clay Jam, which has plenty of hills to roll down and unique hand-built monsters to encounter, is free to play, with optional in-app purchases to "save Clay Jam even sooner." The real story, though, is the impressive thoughtfulness and craftsmanship behind the game.

predators

A few weeks ago, I lamented on the fact that I can't have a pet Predator because he'd likely violently remove my throat for no good reason. I like my throat, so instead I've chosen to just play the Predator game for Android. And now you can join in on the fun for $2 less than you could've yesterday, or the days/weeks before that.

Originally $2.99, the game is now on sale for $0.99.

After a long time in development, Marvel (and their parent company Disney) have released Avengers Initiative to the Android masses. Coming with a $6.99 price tag on a limited number of devices, it adds to the growing list of Avengers-themed mobile games, even if only one of those heroes is available in this particular title.

EA and Hasbro, adding another entry to Monopoly's long history, recently released another version of the classic board game – Monopoly Millionaire. If the name of the game isn't descriptive enough, it's a game of Monopoly where the first player to reach $1,000,000 wins.

To reach $1 million, players are encouraged to "trade properties on the sly, force powerful deals, and risk it all in a dash for a million in cash." We are, of course, talking Monopoly cash here, but the concept is still fairly compelling for a mobile board game.

It's been a couple months in coming, but the first in an episodic series of Avengers games is live on the Play Store now. In case you've forgotten, this edition features the Hulk, leading the effort to round up a number of supervillains that escaped during a breakout of The Vault. To celebrate the launch, Marvel and NVIDIA are offering the game for a special promo price of $4.99 (normally $6.99).

If you've been paying attention to the news cycle lately, you've probably heard that Google—by way of the obscure "Niantic Labs"—released a game of some kind. You saw a trailer that depicted people discovering hidden energy fields within statues, landmarks, and artistic sculptures. You had no idea what was going on. You signed up for an invite anyway, because like any other weird Google product, you want in regardless of what it is.
