This May Or May Not Be The Samsung Galaxy S IV Leaked On Video

The Galaxy S IV should be unveiled in roughly 2.5 days, and, as we expected, the leaks just keep on coming. Of course, the problem with Samsung's flagship Galaxy device launches is it's pretty much impossible to figure out whether what we're seeing is the real design or not due to multiple prototypes and a veil of secrecy that I daresay tops even Apple's.

Today, we have a video of the very same alleged Chinese dual-SIM variant of the SGS IV GT-i9502 that we saw yesterday when it posed for a surprisingly high-quality photoshoot (I guess the blurrycam was broken).

It seems like just yesterday we were debating the legitimacy of a somewhat fishy photo leak from a Chinese forum and wondering what the deal was with that Jeremy kid and the glowing box. Oh, wait, that was today.

Well, in a somewhat unexpected turn of events, Samsung Mobile US has just shared what, presumably, is an image of the upcoming Galaxy SIV, shrouded in shadows and backed by bokeh. While getting a glimpse at an unannounced device is always an unexpected treat, this isn't the first time Samsung has let loose with shadowy depictions of hot new gadgets. Remember the lead-up to the Galaxy Nexus launch?

Yet Another Study Shows The Galaxy Brand Is Becoming Synonymous With Android

One of the biggest problems Google faces with Android is avoiding a situation where one manufacturer controls so much of the market that everything else falls by the wayside. As study after study shows, though, this is becoming an increasing risk as Samsung gobbles up more customers. To wit, this survey from Localytics—a company that provides analytics for mobile apps— showed that of the top ten Android devices its customers used, eight were made by Samsung, and seven had the Galaxy brand attached.

The trend is staggering, but not surprising. After all, between Samsung and Apple, the two companies account for somewhere between most and more than all the smartphone profits.

US Cellular Updates Galaxy Note II To R950VXALL1, Adds Multi-Window [Full Changelog]

US Cellular is issuing an update to their variant of Samsung's Galaxy Note II, bringing the baseband version up to R950VXALL1. The headline feature with this update, as may be expected, is multi-window support. That's not all the R950VXALL1 package brings, though.

The update, besides evidently bringing the device up to Android "4.1.4" Jelly Bean (did you mean to say "4.1.2" there, USC?), brings an armload of bug fixes, from a "Burst Mode" camera fix to occasional toggling between 3G and 1X, to minor UI changes including the replacement of the notification shade's "sync" button with a multi-window shortcut and a makeover for the phone's Sound icon, switching from gray to green.

Samsung, continuing its habit of timely code releases, today let fly open source kernel files for a handful of devices including Verizon's newly announced Galaxy Camera (EK-GC120), AT&T's Galaxy SIII Jelly Bean update (SGH-I747), and last but not least, AT&T's Galaxy Tab 8.9 Ice Cream Sandwich release (SGH-I957).

Android 4.2 Update (JOP40C) Rolling Out To Takju Galaxy Nexus, Grab The Manual Update Now

Just after users began reporting that their Galaxy Nexus devices were receiving an update to Android 4.2 Jelly Bean (build JOP40C, to be precise), it looks like the manual update package is available for download. As could be expected, this coincides almost perfectly with the launch of Google's newest additions to the Nexus family – the Nexus 4 and 10.

Of course, it's worth reiterating that this is an update specifically for the Galaxy Nexus' Takju variant – that means only Galaxy Nexus handsets bought from the Play Store need apply (we're still waiting to hear about the Yakju variant). Your device should also be running build JZO54K before trying to install the update manually.
