Samsung Posts An Official 9 Minute Galaxy Tab Hands-On Walkthrough Video

If you have 10 minutes to spare today, take a look at this new official Samsung video of the Galaxy Tab. It's professionally shot but this time instead of the marketing presentation that we saw before, we have an actual hands-on 9m20s walkthrough of:

  • the build
  • the UI
  • emailing (that 2-pane view looks nice!)
  • typing
  • using a calendar
  • editing documents
  • using the keyboard dock
  • calling (for non-US users)
  • video conferencing
  • reading books
  • listening to music
  • watching videos
  • utilizing Flash
  • HD streaming
  • using Android applications
  • GPS capabilities

Grab a coffee (if it's morning) or a beer (if it's night time or if that's just how you roll) and take a look:

Besides that, we have another video from SamsungMobileUSA, which is essentially a report from the Samsung Galaxy Tab press conference in New York that we attended last week:

Now feel free to go back to your regular scheduled programming and start saving up for that Tab.

10" Samsung Galaxy Tab Coming In First Half Of 2011

SiliconRepublic ran a piece explaining which carriers in Ireland will be selling the Galaxy Tab. At the bottom of the article (the very last sentence), they nonchalantly mention that Samsung country manager Gary Twohig says they'll be releasing a 10" Tablet sometime in the first half of 2011. The only other details included in the article: it will run Android, and rock the V8 JavaScript engine.

Engadget speculates that Samsung may be waiting for Gingerbread or Honeycomb, which certainly sounds like a fair assessment to me.

Android Police Samsung Galaxy Tab Press Event Report - Galaxy Tab, Media Hub, Details, Hands-On

Rain, shine, or literally freakin' tornado in the part of the country which isn’t supposed to have such weather, Android Police is there. As promised, I attended the press event thrown by Samsung on Thursday, during which they were to announce their "latest Android-powered device" as well as their new Media Hub service.

While the fact that Samsung was to announce a tablet device was officially a secret, we all pretty much knew the mystery device was going to be the Galaxy Tab.

Official Samsung Galaxy Tab UI Walkthrough [Video]

Remember the nice Galaxy Tab site that Samsung launched on September 2nd during the official Galaxy Tab unveiling? At the time, the video section of the site only included the official commercial and a very brief teaser.

Now, however, Samsung posted another addition - a video walkthrough of the Tabs main features - ones you would potentially use on a daily basis. The video was completely silent and embedded in their Flash site, so I "borrowed" it (I promise, I'll give it back) and uploaded it to Youtube for your more comfortable consumption.

Samsung Galaxy Tab May Sell For Carrier-Subsidized $200-400, May Pack 4G

Well this is getting downright interesting - after some pricing confusion, rumor has it that the Samsung Galaxy Tab will sell for somewhere between $200 and $400 on contract. That's a hell of a lot better than some of the numbers that were floating around after its official unveiling on September 2 - we'd heard upwards of $900.

Even better: looks like the earlier rumor about Sprint getting the Tab may hold some water after all - now, word on the street is that it'll be rocking WiMax (4G).

Rumor Has It Samsung Galaxy Tab Will Go To Sprint

Seems like Sprint is really turning itself around lately, doesn't it? They've managed to stop bleeding customers in the past few months, and it's a fairly safe assumption that their ever-expanding lineup of awesome devices has something to do with it. Looks like they're looking to continue the trend, too: BGR's heard word that the Galaxy Tab will be headed to Sprint sometime in November.

They don't provide any details other than that, so hopefully this ends up being reliable.

Samsung: Honeycomb (Android 3.5) Will Come After Gingerbread (3.0); Larger Honeycomb Tablet Coming

Disclaimer: initially, I was reluctant to pass this one on, but it looks like it may be more credible and less speculative than I first thought.

During IFA today, Samsung confirmed that Gingerbread is next and will be Android 3.0, and that it will be succeeded by Honeycomb (3.5). It is possible that things will change between now and then, but this is an official, public word from Samsung in direct response to a question - fairly concrete.

Official Samsung Galaxy Tab Site Goes Live: Design, 360 View, Videos, Wallpapers, Specs, Accessories - It's All There

The long awaited Samsung Galaxy Tab is now official. After finally getting revealed at the IFA 2010 conference just about an hour ago, all proverbial cats are finally out of their proverbial bags. While those members of the press who are actually present on location are playing with display units (unfortunately, that doesn't include us, this time), the rest of us can browse around the official Galaxy Tab site which Samsung launched following the announcement.

[Updated With Teaser Site] Samsung Releases Official Galaxy Tab Video On YouTube

Samsung just uploaded an official promo video for the Samsung Galaxy Tab, and it's pretty slick - it's very similar in nature to the Droid commercials, but less sci-fi. It doesn't release any new details, but it does confirm a few minor ones. For example, it will be shipping with Android 2.2 (Froyo) on board and it's set to be revealed at the IFA on September 2. Rather interestingly, it will support video chat - so presumably there is indeed a front-facing camera on board.

Samsung Galaxy Tab Prototype Spotted Again, With Some Hands-On Details

A prototype of Samsung's Galaxy tablet (creatively named the "Galaxy Tab") has been spotted again, this time in the hands of a Chinese citizen. Unfortunately, Google Translate is pretty awful on this one:

Broke the identity of a mystery, e-mail name is (づ¯ 3 ¯)づ, good sense ... pregnant, and he also presents us with a gift: The Galaxy Tab landing our home, so ifanr a Samsung flat in the first Chinese Web site, thanks his readers!
