Even though Verizon is not known for having a speedy update approval process, owners of the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 and Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 are finally about to win the Jelly Bean lottery. The OTAs will bring each device up to Android 4.1.2.

A winner has been selected. Congrats to April!

You didn't think we'd miss a chance to give something away on this day of all things cheap, did you? Of course not. So we've teamed up with AT&T to give you a little Black Friday promotion of our own - in the form of a free Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 with LTE.

The Tab 2 10.1 LTE is a lot like its Wi-Fi sibling, though it's packing a much quicker Snapdragon S4 dual-core processor, along with the aforementioned LTE support for the AT&T network. Here's a quick spec breakdown:

  • 10.1" LCD (1280x800) with Gorilla Glass
  • Android 4.0 with TouchWiz
  • 1.5GHZ MSM8960 dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor
  • 16GB internal storage, plus microSD slot
  • 1GB RAM
  • 7000mAh battery
  • HSPA+ / LTE connectivity
  • Bluetooth 4.0
  • 3MP rear camera / VGA front camera
  • Stereo front-facing speakers
  • Built-in IR blaster to use your tablet as your TV remote

You can also pick up the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 straight from AT&T's website, $500 out the door, or $400 with a 2-year agreement.

We've already seen the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 land on Sprint, AT&T, and T-Mobile's data networks, and now you can get the 10-inch slate from Verizon, as well. The device is already listed on Big Red's site for a cool $500, with a "will ship by 11/26" status.

If you've been aching to buy a new device on Sprint, today may be a good day to stroll through the doors of one of the carrier's retail shops to check out the new arrivals: the LG Optimus G, LG Mach, and Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 LTE.

The Optimus G is, of course, the flagship of the bunch, sporting a 4.7" TrueHD IPS+ panel, 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro, 2GB RAM, and Android 4.0. This device is, for all intents and purposes, a non-Nexus version of the Nexus 4. Even though the OS is now dated, the hardware is still solid and performance should be among the best in its class.

Starting Friday, you can get your hands on an LTE-enabled variant of the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 for AT&T, for $500 sans contractual obligation. And, if you buy a Samsung Galaxy smartphone (read: a Galaxy S III) with a new 2-year agreement on AT&T, they'll give you $100 off on a Tab 2 10.1. And that... might be of interest to you. This AT&T edition is also $50 cheaper than Sprint's. As for specifications:

  • 10.1" 1280x800 display
  • 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon MSM8960
  • 1GB RAM
  • 8GB built-in storage, microSD card slot
  • 3MP rear camera, VGA front camera
  • Android 4.0

And if you have an AT&T Mobile Share plan, you can add this tablet onto your existing data plan for $10, which is certainly one advantage of shared data buckets.
