Samsung Releases Kernel Source For The AT&T Galaxy Express And T-Mobile Tab 2 10.1

Do you ever wonder if Samsung gets tired of releasing devices? While most manufacturers have vowed to release fewer superfluous phone and tablets, ol' Sammy is still going strong, offering up new Galaxy devices almost weekly. Maybe some people like the choice. Or maybe not. Either way, I don't see any signs of them slowing any time soon.

With more devices, of course, also comes more source code. Today's batch of piping hot source is for the Galaxy Express on AT&T and the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 on T-Mobile. Hackers, modders, and tinkerers, this one's for you - hit the source links below to grab the download and do things with it.

AT&T Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 With LTE Launches November 9th

Starting Friday, you can get your hands on an LTE-enabled variant of the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 for AT&T, for $500 sans contractual obligation. And, if you buy a Samsung Galaxy smartphone (read: a Galaxy S III) with a new 2-year agreement on AT&T, they'll give you $100 off on a Tab 2 10.1. And that... might be of interest to you. This AT&T edition is also $50 cheaper than Sprint's. As for specifications:

  • 10.1" 1280x800 display
  • 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon MSM8960
  • 1GB RAM
  • 8GB built-in storage, microSD card slot
  • 3MP rear camera, VGA front camera
  • Android 4.0

And if you have an AT&T Mobile Share plan, you can add this tablet onto your existing data plan for $10, which is certainly one advantage of shared data buckets.

This is Sprint's first LTE-powered tablet, and packs a bit of a spec boost over the Wi-Fi model:

T-Mobile's Galaxy Note II Official Today For A Wallet-Emptying $370, Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 Available 'In The Coming Weeks'

Today's the day, T-Mobile folks: the Galaxy Note II can be yours for the low, low price of... $370. OK, so maybe that's not low at all. If you want to get it cheaper, Wirefly's your best bet. Still, if you prefer to walk in to a T-Mo store and walk out with a brand new behemoth in your pocket, you can do that - you'll just have to pay extra.

T-Mobile also announced today an upcoming addition to its tablet collection: the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1. The Tab 2 10.1 (I still hate that name) packs a 1.5GHz dual-core chip, along with a solitary gig of RAM, and Android 4.0.

Samsung Announces Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 For $250 On April 22, Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 For $400 On May 13

Samsung first unveiled its newest duo of Galaxy Tabs back in February at Mobile World Congress, but left one key element out: pricing and availability. That final veil of mystery has now been removed, as the pair are now officially official.

SAMSUNG ELECTRONICS AMERICA, INC. GALAXY TAB 2 7.0

The Tab 2 7.0 is the replacement for the Tab 7 Plus, but doesn't offer a whole lot in way of upgrade:

  • 7-inch 1024x600 TFT display
  • 1GHz dual-core TI processor
  • 1GB RAM
  • 8GB built-in storage, microSD card slot
  • 3.2MP rear shooter, VGA front camera
  • Android 4.0 with Touchwiz UX

What the Tab 2 7.0 does do, however, is hit a pretty nice price point: $250.

[MWC 2012] Hands-On With The Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 And 10.1

We're at the Samsung booth at MWC this afternoon, and first on our list were Samsung's newest Tabs - the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, and the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0. The devices are actually fairly similar - same processor, same cameras, microSD card slot, and 3G SIM card slot. Both are also running Android 4.0, which is pretty standard fare for tablets these days. They even share very similar, very plasticky rear covers.

In fact, on paper, both of these devices are actually very boring. But there's a key piece of information Samsung hasn't announced about these devices: pricing.
