If you happened to miss out on the chance to get last year's flagship for $380 when it hit eBay's Daily Deals site earlier this month, it's back again. While the GSIII may not be the hottest phone money can buy any more, it's still a very capable handset that will likely continue to be well supported by Samsung over the coming months (and then some).

The only "downside" of today's deal is that it's for the blue and black variants only – white and red are already sold out.

The Galaxy S III has a capacity of 2100 milliamp hours. As far as battery life goes, it's alright, when compared to other flagship phones from last year. But if you want the absolute best longevity out there, not to mention the best bang for your battery buck, you've got to check out the off-brand expanded model that Reddit found while trawling the depths of Amazon.

It's got a capacity of 7000mAh.

As the launch of the Galaxy S IV fast approaches, the prices on last year's model (which is still less than a year old) is bound to drop. In fact, it's already begun with this deal on the unlocked international model currently going for $379 on eBay Daily Deals. This model packs 16GB of internal storage, which makes it only $20 more expensive than the comparable Nexus 4.

This deal is only available in limited quantities, so we can't say how long it will last, especially at this price.

I heard from a reliable source that you guys like unlocked cell phones. Well, eBay's Daily Deals have you covered today with an unlocked international Galaxy S III for $449, which is slightly cheaper than the previous deal on this handset of $470. The device comes in  your choice of black, white, or blue. As a bonus, the shipping on these devices is entirely free, which makes it one of the cheapest high-end handsets you can get unlocked, excluding the Nexus 4.

According to PCMag (I apologize for the awful floating ads in advance), Samsung will be issuing a software update to the Galaxy S III that will incorporate many of the new Galaxy S4's features.

Nick DiCarlo, a Samsung VP, said "Anything that we can do that's not dependent on hardware like infrared, we'll definitely bring to all the flagship devices."

So, I take that to mean the Galaxy S III, Note II, and possibly a couple other devices that might support some of the features in the S4 - perhaps the Note 8.0 and Note 10.1.

When it comes to device protection, there is no shortage of options out there on the great wide internet. With enough digging, you can find almost any different style of case you can think of, be it an on-device super-thin case, something ultra-durable, or a simple sleeve.  If you're looking for something along the lines of the latter for your Nexus 4, Galaxy S III, or Galaxy Note 10.1, look no further than the just-announced Durables Wallet and Sleeve from DODOcase.

We heard rumors at the start of this week that Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S IV will feature eye tracking technology to scroll through pages as you read content, and now it looks as though those features could be heading to the Galaxy S III as well.

Screenshots published by SamMobile this morning, from a leaked version of Android 4.2.1 intended for the Galaxy S III, show the smart screen features in more detail, with some previously unseen additions.

In a surprisingly quick update, the Android Open Kang project has reached its fifth Android 4.2 release, complete with some worthy additions to the list of supported devices. The much-demanded Samsung Galaxy S III international version leads the pack, with the Verizon and Sprint variants of the Galaxy Note II also making for some pleased users. (S-Pen support has been added for these models specifically.) The LG Optimus LTE, plus its American variants the Nitro (AT&T) and Spectrum (Verizon) round out the pack.

It's not Jelly Bean yet. Well, I mean it is. It's the older Jelly Bean. Not the newer Jelly Bean. I'm sure this isn't confusing. However, Verizon is getting ready to roll out an update to the Galaxy S III that will bump the phone from 4.1.1 to 4.1.2. Unfortunately this isn't the 4.2 upgrade most users were likely hoping for. Among the listed improvements are a better keyboard and the ability to take pictures while on a call.
