It's only been a few months since the Galaxy Note started making waves, but we're seeing prices steadily drop on unlocked models. Not that long ago, we spotted the device for $519. Now we've spotted it even lower, available on eBay Daily Deals or $459 off-contract. This device is the international variant, so sorry
AT&T T-Mobile users, you'll have to sit this one out if you want 3G.
As the price drops lower and lower, it reaches downright affordable territory. Read More

Samsung Canada has finished porting Ice Cream Sandwich to a whole bunch of devices, which in Samsung press release parlance means they are "eligible" for an upgrade. Does that mean you can hit that "update" button today and start downloading ICS? Well, that's complicated.
First though, the list of devices:

Does your pocket feel too empty with that pathetically small phone in it? What you need is a bigger phone at a reasonable price. But according to FCC filings and a user agent string obtained by TmoNews, T-Mobile is preparing a device that multiple pieces of evidence point to being the Galaxy Note.

Clarification: Yes, it is 5 million sold to end consumers, officially confirmed by Samsung to Phone Scoop.
The Galaxy Note - it's a device that stirs up passions among many technology enthusiasts. It's big - so big that is just looks silly held up to your face. But its gorgeous, 5.3" HD display (1280x800) has owners absolutely loving the phablet (alright, I won't use it again - promise).
Apple iPhone 4S and Samsung Galaxy Note
It was panned by critics, and online magazine Slate even called it a "disturbing trend," saying Samsung should "take a lesson from [Apple's] success and realize that bigger isn’t necessarily better and that a phone’s utility decreases as its screen inflates." The Galaxy Note debuted with an MSRP of $800, and while carrier subsidies have seen many consumers avoid that price, it's worth mentioning that still means the Note is pricier for carriers than the iPhone 4S. Folks across the pond rocking that huge phone/tiny tablet simply known as the Galaxy Note have been waiting patiently for Samsung to deliver on that Q1 promise for the ICS update. Bad news: doesn't look like that's going to happen. According a new post on Samsung Norway's Facebook page, the Android 4.0 update for the mighty Note has been delayed until sometime in Q2.
Gotta love Google Translate.
While this news may be a bit disheartening, I wouldn't stress out too much about it just yet - Samsung has been known to say the wrong thing from time to time, after all. Read More
When we heard about rumors of Samsung releasing a 10.1-inch version of the popular Galaxy Note smartphone, we were understandably a bit skeptical. I mean, the idea makes sense - a larger Note would mean more area to use that advanced pressure-sensitive stylus. But given that Samsung has yet to announce a Galaxy Tab 10.1 successor, it seemed a bit odd. But now, the Note 10.1 is obviously for-real, and we spent a little time with it today. Read More
