Since their inception, tablets have been seen as a computing form factor conducive to a particular kind of artistic expression: drawing and painting. Of course, accurate sketching can be a little difficult with clumsy fingers, and conductive stylus pens have proven a middling solution, at best. Fortunately, with the advent dual-digitizers capable of supporting pressure-sensitive styli - like those found in Samsung's Galaxy Note 10.1 - tablets have become a much more practical art tool. Hardware is nothing without the software to take advantage of it, though. Enter ArtFlow, a new drawing app for Android that comes with, in addition to a number of effects, support for advanced styli baked in.

Verizon's Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 Available Starting March 7th For $599, Enormous Logo And All

We know that at least a few of you have been eagerly waiting for Samsung to release its stylus-packing Galaxy Note 10.1 in a more wireless flavor here in the States. Starting on Thursday, March 7th, you'll get your surprisingly specific wish: Verizon will start selling the tablet online and in stores for $599.99. For six Benjamins, you'll get the pleasure of the Note's S-pen function and related TouchWiz apps, plus the honor of promoting Big Red through what is quite possibly the most gaudy, ostentatious carrier branding in the history of mobile electronics.

For the uninitiated, the Note 10.1 is a beefier version of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 2, with a 1.4Ghz quad-core Exynos processor, 2GB of RAM, 5MP rear camera, infrared blaster, Android 4.1, and of course, a Wacom digitizer on the 1280x800 screen.

US Cellular Adds The Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 To Its LTE Lineup For $499.99

Its smaller 8-inch cousin is getting all the attention at Mobile World Congress (for better or worse), but the plus-sized Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 still has a few fans. At least one of them works at regional carrier US Cellular, because the device is now their second 4G LTE tablet, behind the original Galaxy Tab 10.1. The Galaxy Note 10.1 is available now from US Cellular's website and retail stores for $499.99; it requires a 2GB data plan, but not a long-term contract.

The Note 10.1 comes with a Jelly Bean 4.1 upgrade already on board, not to mention the 1.4Ghz Exynos quad-core processor and 2GB of RAM that it started with.

Watch Seth Rogen And Paul Rudd Hate Each Other For 4 Minutes In Samsung's Extended Superbowl Commercial

Reactions have been mixed to Samsung's somewhat understated ~~Superbowl~~ big game commercial, featuring comedy B-listers Seth Rogen and Paul Rudd. If you couldn't get enough of the pair trading jabs while pitching a meta Galaxy ad, Samsung has posted the full 4:40 cut to YouTube. The ad follows the plot and pacing of the shorter version, but there's a few extra punch lines in there. Just in case ninety seconds of middle-aged verbal jousting wasn't enough for you.

Samsung seems to be the only consumer electronics brand interested in the advertising world's biggest stage this year. Sadly, there's no reveal of new hardware headed for the US market or anywhere else.

Samsung Releases Jelly Bean Kernel Source For The U.S. Galaxy Note 10.1 (N8013)

Hot on the heels of yesterday's Jelly Bean OTA for the U.S. variant of the Galaxy Note 10.1, Samsung has published the matching kernel source code to its Open Source Release Center. This will allow developers to push the device to its limits, add battery-saving tweaks, and more.

For those who may have missed it, the U.S. Note 10.1 was the first of Samsung's Galaxy devices to receive Android 4.1.2 (all the other updates were 4.1.1). The update also brought some enhanced features to Samsung's Premium Suite, as well as all of Jelly Bean's added goodness.

Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (N8013) Now Getting Jelly Bean 4.1.2 (UEUCMA3) In The U.S.

A few days ago, Samsung starting pushing Android 4.1.1 to the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 and 7.0 here in the U.S. Almost immediately we heard a collective shriek from Note 10.1 owners, as they realized that their flagship device was still stuck on 4.0.x.

Well, guys, relax: Samsung's not only hooking you up with Jelly Bean, but it's doing one better by bringing 4.1.2 (build JZO54K) to the table. That's right – none of that .1 business, it's the best that 4.1 has to offer.

The update's rolling out now OTA to Wi-Fi models, but it should also be available via Kies.
