Sprint's Samsung Galaxy Nexus Could Be Launching On April 22, According To Leaked Wal-Mart Document

Okay, I know what you're thinking: isn't the Sprint GNex coming out on April 15th? Well... maybe. Actually, we're not sure now - according to a new document obtained by The Verge, it could actually be coming out exactly one week later, on April 22.

Despite the fact that the earlier leak came from a highly trusted source, this image appears to be legit, as all of the other dates are spot-on. So, if you're determined to get your hands on the very first Sprint LTE device out of the gate, it looks like the LG Viper is still on-schedule to hit on the 15th.

HTC One X Handily Beats The Galaxy Nexus And Xperia S In Camera Speed Test Video, Shows Off Burst Mode Just To Brag

Begun, the camera shutter wars have. Ever since Samsung and Google debuted the Galaxy Nexus' zero shutter lag feature, handset makers have been cranking up their camera apps. Sony's Xperia S is a 12MP monster camera with a fast shutter, but the real speed demon here is the HTC One X. In the video below, the only area the One X loses is in not having a dedicated camera button. As a side note, manufacturers, why don't your phones with amazing cameras have dedicated camera buttons?

As you can see in the first tests, the Xperia S beats the HTC One X in the sleep mode test because it can wake directly to the camera app via the dedicated camera button.

First, Google unleashed the Android 4.0.4 AOSP code, then followed up by sending out incremental OTA updates to the Nexus S, Galaxy Nexus, and XOOM Wi-Fi. Maintaining the momentum, today our favorite Android release engineer JBQ today put together full OS images for the GSM Nexus S and GSM Galaxy Nexus, which can be used to completely restore compatible devices back to stock.

Did a flash go wrong? Did you wipe /system by accident? Don't have an upgrade path to 4.0.4? Don't worry - with these full images you can forget your trouble and start with a clean slate.

GSM Galaxy Nexus Android 4.0.4 OTA Now Available For Download - Here's How To Install It

The Android 4.0.4 OTA update started rolling out to the GSM Galaxy Nexus yesterday (where's the love, Verizon?), but many users are still without the update. Fortunately, the official update is now available for download directly from Google. Getting it installed, on the other hand, is a bit of a task. We've done most of the legwork for you here, so follow the below instructions and you'll be running 4.0.4 in no time.

Let's get started.

This update is for 4.0.2 to 4.0.4 only. If you're running any other version, don't flash this.

Verify which GNex you have

This update is for yakju only, so you need to verify your device before you even bother pulling the download.

Google Learns Pursuing Wallet Without Carriers' Blessing Is Suicide, Now Wants To Play Ball

Google Wallet is a great idea - in theory. In practice? The service has been plagued with problems; slow adoption, a lack of NFC devices, the existence of ISIS generally, and a public image crisis after security concerns. The biggest problem, though, has been the decided unwillingness of carriers (except Sprint) to support it.

That's because everyone but Sprint is banking on Isis, which has over $100 million in financial backing from the likes of Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile. Isis, if you're not familiar with it, is pretty much Google Wallet sans the whole Google part. But unlike Isis, Google Wallet doesn't provide any financial incentive for network operators.

I love my Galaxy Nexus. It's nearly perfect - fast, sleek, sexy as hell, and runs Android 4.0 (which is, without a doubt, the best version of Android to date). As impressive as it is, though, it has one massive shortcoming: the craptastic battery life. Fortunately, I'm around a wall outlet pretty much all the time, and I also have a couple of external chargers that stay in my gadget bag for times when I'll be away from the desk for an extended amount of time (read: hardly ever). But that's how things work in my life, which is definitely not the way it is for everyone else.

Sprint's Galaxy Nexus Passes Through The FCC, Is Now One Step Closer To Landing In Your Hands

Well, looky what just happened to stroll through the FCC - none other than the Galaxy Nexus for Sprint. The upcoming flagship for Sprint's LTE network appears to be identical in size to Verizon's version, making it a hair thicker than the GSM variant.

This actually offers little other details about the device, aside from the fact that it has been given the stamp of approval by the US Government, which means it's one step closer to hitting the Now Network's shelves.

Perhaps we'll get more info from Sprint at the annual CTIA convention in May, if not sooner.

[Rumor] 16GB Galaxy Nexus And Droid Incredible 3 Coming To Verizon On April 5 and 26th, Respectively

Hot on the heels of this weekend's LG Cayman (now called the Lucid 4G) and Droid Fighter release date leak comes rumors of yet another set of release dates for some new VZW hotness. This go around is a 16GB version of the Galaxy Nexus - presumably in both white and black - set to hit on April 4th for all those folks who are convinced that 32GB is just too much storage, or perhaps those who just can't justify the price tag but still want to get in on some of that Nexus action.
