Samsung Site Confirms Galaxy Nexus On Verizon And Posts A Picture

Somebody jumped the gun over at Samsung.com.

A search for "Galaxy Nexus" on their web site will get you this page. It sports a fancy new press shot of the GS and a one line description, "Sign up to get the latest on the Galaxy Nexus from Verizon."

So there you have it. The Galaxy Nexus is on Verizon. The wording makes it sound like it's exclusive to Verizon, doesn't it? We'll find out soon enough.

Pay attention everybody. Things are about to get crazy around here.

Galaxy Nexus Ad Shows Up, Confirms Nearly All Specs

Hot on the trails of this morning's Galaxy Nexus confirmation comes yet another leak of the device, but this time it includes some eye candy. It looks like it's a Japanese magazine ad of some kind, but all the important parts are in English, including hardware specs and Android version number. Have a look:

Here's a rundown of what this ad does tell us:

4.7-inch HD Super AMOLED display (possibly rounded up from the rumored 4.65)
1.2GHz OMAP4460 Processor (likely underclocked from 1.5GHz)
Ice Cream Sandwich will indeed be Android 4.0
Galaxy Nexus is the official name

All this information lines up with what we've been hearing for the past couple of weeks, so it's more of a confirmation than anything else.

Canadian Galaxy Nexus Spotted In Wi-Fi Alliance Database

Don't you just love databases? It looks like our friends to the north will be getting in on some delicious Ice Cream Sandwich action with their very own Galaxy Nexus model, the GT-I9250M. This time it's the Wi-Fi Alliance database giving us poor addicts just one more drop of Nexus news.

The "M" at the end of "GT-I9250M" means that this version is destined for Canada, just like the Canadian versions of the Galaxy S (GT-I9000M) and the Galaxy S II (I9100M).

Sadly there isn't anything else to glean from this filing other than "it has Wi-Fi." These guys sure are wordy.

Samsung Galaxy Nexus (Prime) Hits Verizon Computers, It's 4G

Another hour, another sign ICS and the Nexus Prime are coming.

Did I say Nexus Prime? I meant Galaxy Nexus. That's pretty much official now. Verizon's Device Management system is giving up the goods this time, listing the Galaxy Nexus (I have to get used to that) in its database.

Also official is the 4G LTE modem, as if Verizon would let anything go out the door without one. Unfortunately. like most company programs, this database looks old and redundant, so it doesn't look like there's much more information to glean from this screenshot. It's not a world phone, if you were somehow expecting that, but that's all there is to see.

Exclusive: Details Of The Verizon Galaxy Nexus Ice Cream Sandwich Phone (Sorry, "Prime" Is Not Likely)

At this point, it's pretty clear that we've all been knee deep in Ice Cream Sandwich goodies all week long. We've already given you the Music 4.0.1, Google+ 2.0, and ICS Clock widget APKs, but that's not all - now we have some details regarding the CDMA Verizon Nexus Prime. At least that's what we thought it was called before Google and Samsung decided on the Galaxy Nexus as the final name, according to our reliable source who goes by Geek Vundotra (remember the leaked apps above?).

A few days ago, we heard two variations of very different specs for the Prime: one from BGR, which stated that it should have a 1.2Ghz OMAP processor, LTE, and be exclusive to Verizon; the other came from GSMarena, which stated that the next Nexus (should we call it "Nextus" as one of our readers suggested?) would be packing a monstrous 1.5GHz Exynos and a Power PowerVR SGX543MP2 GPU.

Samsung/Google's Nexus/Ice Cream Sandwich Event May Be Back On, This Time In Hong Kong

Since Google and Samsung called off their event (which was set to announce Ice Cream Sandwich and the next Nexus device), the rumor mill has been going at full tilt. Today, however, a more positive rumor has spun out: Engadget reports that "an inside source" has indicated October 19th as the new date for the Unpacked event.

The source also tells Engadget that the event will be held in Hong Kong, and is timed to line up with AsiaD: All Things Digital, taking place next week. This tip, of course, has not been confirmed, but with time ticking away until the alleged date, we're sure to hear something soon either way.

More Nexus Prime Specs Leak, Strongly Disagree With Previous Information

Oh, snap -- things are starting to get real now. This morning, BGR broke some exclusive info on the Nexus Prime that they obtained from a "trusted source." Now, GSMarena is reporting that they also have exclusive info on the upcoming device, but there's one problem: the latter strongly disagrees with the former. In fact, about the only thing the two sources are in agreeance about is the display --a 4.65-inch Super AMOLED HD running at 1280x720.

So, let's have a look at what GSMarena's source is saying the Prime will be packing:

1.5GHz dual-core processor, most likely Exynos
PowerVR SGX543MP2 GPU (the same one that's in the iPad 2)
8MP rear shooter with 1080p video capture
2050mAh battery
Global-ready

I have to say, that sounds more like a Nexus device to me.

It's apparent that the Nexus Prime/Galaxy Nexus announcement is getting closer, as new information is starting to surface almost daily. Today, the hardware specs have been revealed by a "trusted source" in BGR's camp -- so let's have a look:

First Blurrycam Shot Of The Nexus Prime Shows Up, Shows Off On-Screen Buttons And 320 PPI

Of all the questions that have been surrounding the upcoming Nexus Prime, there has been quite a bit of intrigue about the buttons, or lack thereof, I should say. How will it work? What will the on-screen buttons look like? How will Ice Cream Sandwich work on device that already has physical buttons? ...and that's just the beginning of the inquiries.

While we still can't confirm how ICS will handle the latter, thanks to a leaked blurrycam photo obtained by GSMarena, we now have a better idea of what to possibly expect from the Nexus Prime and its button configuration.

More Nexus Prime Info Leaks: 'Official' Name, Screen Size, Device Thickness, And Possible Launch Date

Rumors surrounding the next Nexus, internally known as the "Prime," are really starting to pour out now. Firstly, we saw a document that suggested a rather disappointing screen resolution, which fortunately, was later revealed to be nothing more than a placeholder. On top of that, Eric Schmidt outed the tentative release timeframe for Ice Cream Sandwich yesterday: October or November.

With all of this in mind, GSMarea has gotten ahold of some info from a "trusted source" on the Prime, and if true, will be the biggest payload we've seen yet.

First up is the name. We've actually heard that it could be called the Droid Prime on VZW, but for the majority of its life thus far, it has been referred to as the Nexus Prime.
