Major Canadian Carriers Announce Impending Availability of Galaxy Nexus

Being an Android fan in Canada can be a mixed bag. While you may miss out on some of the sweet devices exclusive to U.S. carriers - the EVO 4G comes to mind - there's also the chance for some benefits, such as the recent July release of the international model of the Samsung Galaxy S II.

Thankfully, living at such northern latitudes won't cost us the opportunity to get our mitten-clad hands on the next Nexus device.

Shameless Speculation: What In The Heck Are T-Mobile And Google Going To Announce On Wednesday? We Have A Guess Or Two

It seems that invitees to Google's big not-yet-officially-about-Google-Music-event have just received a second invitation - to the after party. Oh, and Maroon 5, Busta Rhymes, Dirty South, R3hab, and Drake will all be in attendance - and so will we.  We'll be watching the earlier event via livestream along with most everyone else (space is apparently very limited), but Android Police will present for the post-event-event Wednesday night, below. We're excited.

Download: Leaked Galaxy Nexus Full System Dump (ICL23D), Recovery, And Boot Images

I'm surprised this didn't come sooner, but better late than never, right? The full Galaxy Nexus (presumably GSM) system dump, together with boot and recovery images were leaked earlier today by none other than Paul O'Brien, the founder of MoDaCo, a talented developer, and creator of many custom ROMs. If you remember, previously only the apps as well as certain bits and pieces of Ice Cream Sandwich were made available for download.

Will The Verizon Galaxy Nexus Be Available Beginning November 17th?

The rumor mill is going nuts with release dates for the Verizon Galaxy Nexus, and now we can add one more to the list. We already know that the European version of the device will be available on November 17th, and, according to an uncompleted internal Verizon document nabbed by Android Central, it looks like Verizon may be joining the global revolution on the same day.

Verizon Holiday Roadmap Leaked, Samsung Galaxy Nexus Shows Up Just After Black Friday

After the Galaxy Nexus announcement, there was one question still rolling around unanswered: when is it going to be released? While that question has been answered for our brothers and sisters across the pond, those of us here in the US have been left without a word from Verizon (or anyone else, for that matter). Of course, we have heard dozens of rumors, but nothing with any proof to back it up.

Samsung Confirms European Galaxy Nexus Release Date: November 17th Dreams Come True

While we're patiently waiting for the American release date of the Galaxy Nexus, Samsung confirmed earlier today that our brothers across the pond will be able to snag the device beginning on November 17th. As for us here in the States, we'll just have to hang out for a while longer and wait for Sammy, Big Red, and whoever else may be involved to send some release date love our way.

Samsung Galaxy Nexus Not Exclusive To Verizon After All?

How long have we been hearing that the Galaxy Nexus would be exclusive to Verizon? Quite a while -- probably since rumors of the "Nexus Prime" first started surfacing. It looks like those rumors have been around so long that Verizon itself started to believe it, too... until they were told it wasn't true.

Last night, Big Red threw an exclusive tag on Galaxy Nexus banners floating around on its site.

Verizon Wireless Officially Announces The Galaxy Nexus, We Jump For Joy

Perhaps you've heard of an upcoming phone called the Galaxy Nexus. It's just a little piece of awesome sent down from the Android Gods to bring in the newest version of Android: Ice Cream Sandwich. Ever since it was officially unveiled on Tuesday night, there have been rumors flying around that Big Red may not be the network that will get this oh-so spectacular device -- but, thankfully, we can now put all that crap to rest, because Verizon just officially announced it.

Samsung Decides Galaxy Nexus Was Not Actually Designed To Avoid Apple Patents, "Doesn't Know" How That Rumor Got Started, Nothing To See Here

Uh-oh. Sounds like Samsung's lawyers heard about Samsung Mobile President Shin Jong-kyun's little statement that the Galaxy Nexus was designed such that no "known" Apple patents were used or infringed on by the phone. This was probably, to be frank, a very stupid thing to say. Aside from basically challenging Apple to take a closer look at the Galaxy Nexus, there's also the fact that, if Jong-kyun's statement was actually correct and Samsung did design the Galaxy Nexus to avoid Apple patents, that Apple's lawyers would love to quote it at various patent infringement trials around the world.

This could be introduced to a jury as evidence that Samsung had reason to believe, at the point the Galaxy Nexus was designed, that their other products could be infringing on Apple patents.

Samsung's Mobile President: The Galaxy Nexus Was Designed With Patents In Mind

It seems that these days, Samsung must constantly be on alert for new entries in the ever-growing list of patent disputes with Apple. Sensing this, Samsung's Mobile President, Shin Jong-kyun (who we heard from at last night's presentation) took a moment to stress the fact that the Galaxy Nexus was designed with patents in mind - specifically, it was designed to avoid trouble with Apple. While it is a rectangular device with a touch screen, not much else seems to put it in danger.
