[Update: Beta 1 Now Available] Touch-Enabled ClockworkMod Recovery Alpha Released For The Galaxy Nexus

What's the hottest thing to hit custom recoveries since, well... custom recoveries hit? Your fingers! That's right, touch-based recoveries (like TWRP) are starting to make the rounds on various devices, and Android modder Nathan Grebowiec just released an unofficial version of ClockworkMod Recovery with touch controls for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus (both GSM and LTE variants).

The interface design is all-around practical, as it uses on screen buttons just like ICS. Have a look:

ClockworkMod Touch is available for download now, but remember that this is just an alpha version.

This Is Why Your Verizon Galaxy Nexus (Or Other 4G LTE VZW Phone) Is Losing Its Data Connection

After months of wondering and looking around for answers, we think we've finally found out why all of Verizon's 4G LTE phones (and modems / USB dongles) are having data connectivity issues, and it's a wee-bit technical even for us, but we'll do our best. This information has been gathered from various comments and forums across the net, so, take us at our word here.

When Verizon launched its LTE network in November of 2010, it was the first time the carrier had utilized a GSM-based (WCDMA, as opposed to CDMA2000) network in the United States. All Verizon phones and data-enabled devices had previously run on CDMA2000 connections - the network responsible for Verizon's 3G and 2G data.

If, like many LTE Galaxy Nexus users, you are frustrated by Verizon's choice to block Google Wallet from Samsung's hottest new device, and don't want to root just yet, XDA has some good news. It turns out that Google's standard Wallet APK can be installed on the Nexus' LTE variant without issue.

The news came after many rooted users reported issues using a flashable .zip file to get Google Wallet up and running. Of course, users installing Wallet on their new Nexus devices are also eligible for the standard $10.00 credit courtesy of Google, making the news that much sweeter.

[Initial Impressions] The Galaxy Nexus Is Rocking My World

Finally. It's real.

After all the rumored release dates, and Verizon's best efforts to sweep this phone under the carpet, the Galaxy Nexus for Verizon is real. It's real and I have one.

I picked it up on launch day at 8am, at a pretty busy Verizon store. I went on a long Ice Cream Sandwich bender, and now I'm here to report my first impressions.

First off, forget all that technical Pentile stuff. I want to hate Pentile, I really do, but the screen is just gorgeous. I'm normally the type to complain about Pentile's checkerboard layout, but the pixels are so tiny I just can't see it.

[Update: x2: Prices Lowered] Galaxy Nexus Goes Live On Verizon Wireless, Amazon Wireless, And Wirefly For $299, $199, And $220 Respectively

Update x2: Amazon Wireless just dropped the price of the Galaxy Nexus for new subscribers down to $150 (still $250 for upgrades). It's only "for a limited time" so you better hurry!
Update: Wirefly just dropped the price a bit more, down to $190 with a new two-year agreement or $240 for upgrades.

Well, it's finally here – Verizon's variant of the hotly anticipated Galaxy Nexus is available at last, going live with a variety of online retailers just moments ago.

First up is VZW, offering what is perhaps their most hotly anticipated device this year for the hefty price of $299 with a new 2 year agreement.
