[Deal Alert] Fórmula, Vol. 2 By Romeo Santos Is Google Play's Free Album Of The Week

Google regularly hands out free music albums, and it tries to shake things up in the process. In the past we've seen options as varied as Disney's Frozen and Kaskade's I Remember. This week listeners are treated to Latin-flavored songs from Romeo Santos. If you head to Google Play, you can download Fórmula, Vol. 2 in its entirety without paying a cent.

Google Now Offers Free Ad-Supported Play Music Radio Streaming In The US

Google isn't taking the arrival of Apple Music lightly, it would seem. The company just announced a new free tier of Play Music in the US that provides access to ad-supported streaming radio. It looks to have all the same restrictions as other free streaming services, but you can't argue with the price.

Toca Hair Salon 2 Is The Second Selection In Google's Awkward 'Free App Of The Week' Promotion

You may remember Google posted a new kind of app promotion last week. It offered a PBS Kids app that was usually $3 for free, which is kind of a big deal for the Play Store. Developers cannot currently make a listing free then go back to paid. It looks like Google is going to continue doing this for a bit, as there's a new free app of the week—Toca Hair Salon 2. This would be great if only the redemption process wasn't so jacked up.

Google Play Offers Its First Free App Of The Week—A PBS App Tucked Away In The Family Section

Giving away free apps is sort of Amazon's thing. Each day the company offers up a different piece of software in hopes of attracting Android users away from their default app store. Now Google seems to be dipping its toes in the water and trying out something similar. Instead of a free app of the day, we can download one for the week.

The offer isn't immediately apparent when you first open the Play Store. A banner advertising "New Family Fun" appears at the bottom of the screen. Clicking that will take you over to the family section, where you should see another banner advertising a free app of the week from PBS Kids.

If you own a Chromecast or Nexus Player and grabbed a free rental from Play Movies last time the deal was offered, it looks like you can head to chromecast.com/offers and grab another.

After opening up the Dads & Grads sale, Google has apparently reset the free rental deal, which gives Chromecast and Nexus Player owners the chance to select a movie to rent from the Play Store.

In the race to sell LG's latest flagship Android phone to Americans, T-Mobile wins by a nose. As promised, the carrier is now selling its own version of the G4 to customers. You can buy it outright on T-Mo's contract-free setup for $599.76, or split your payments into 24 monthly chunks of $24.99. T-Mobile is also giving away a free 128GB MicroSD card with new purchases while supplies last - according to Amazon, that's about an $80 value.

The G4 is a worthy adversary to flagships like the HTC One M9 and Samsung's pair of Galaxy S6 siblings. In his exhaustive review, David Ruddock praised the phone's excellent battery life, solid display, and competitive camera.

[Deal Alert] 'The Rainbow Collections' Play: Kids - An Album Of Classic Children's Music - Is Free On Google Play

Attention parents! Google has some free music on Google Play today to make your next family road trip a pleasure for your children and torture for you. Play: Music, by The Rainbow Collections, is currently free. This timeless collection of wonderful(ly annoying) children's music contains classics such as 'Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star', 'Row Your Boat', and 'Old MacDonald'.

kids crap

As much as I have tried to educate my two boys that eighties rock is far better road trip music material, they still prefer this dreadful stuff. They are only two and five though, and I suppose it's educational (How else would you learn how to use a teapot?), so I will continue to tolerate it for now.

[Deal Alert] 12 Episodes Of Comedy Central Shows Are Currently Free In The Google Play Store

Google has decided to bless us with some free stuff, as they are apt to do. This time, you can own each of 12 episodes of shows on Comedy Central by just heading over there and grabbing them, free of charge. Each episode comes from a different program, which is probably just the network trying to give people a reason to get familiar with their offerings. • Key & Peele, Season 4 - Episode 1: "Alien Imposters"
  • Big Time in Hollywood, FL, Season 1 - Episode 1: "Severance"
  • Nathan For You, Season 1 - Episode 1: "Yogurt Shop/Pizzeria"

[Deal Alert] Get The (Mostly) Instrumental Album 'Play Classical' Free On Google Play

Google semi-regularly offers free albums on the Play Store, and here's one for the ages. No, seriously. We're talking such timeless hits as Nocturnes, Op. 9: No. 1 in B-Flat Minor and Messiah: Hallelujah! These and thirteen other tracks are waiting for those who jump on this opportunity to download the Play Classical album. This deal is probably limited to the US, but you never know.

PlayClassical

The free selection has varied greatly over the past several months. We've seen albums from the likes of Kascade, Coldplay, Meatloaf, and Toto. Before that, there was Disney's Frozen.

I'm an instrumental music guy, so I've already hit the download button for this one. If you're not sure you're a fan, now would be a great time to take a chance and Play Classical.
