You know what you need? Another office suite on your phone or tablet. Or maybe just an office suite. Of course, you probably know that office suites aren't the cheapest apps on the Market, either - most range from $10 to $30, and if you missed OfficeSuite Pro or QuickOffice when they were free in the Amazon Appstore, then you're either stuck waiting for another freebie to come along or forced to shell out the coin to get pick one up. Duke Nukem 3D, the good ol'-fashioned 1991-style Android FPS, is quite the game: sure, the plot is focused on invasion by sex-crazed aliens, but as the developers themselves said in the app's Market description, "that's what makes it fun!"
And for the next two days, the game is completely free, down from $0.99! Of course, if you want to try out episodes 2 and 3, you'll still have to cough up an additional $0.99 a pop - but still, it's not a bad deal considering the game's rather impressive quality. Read More
You thought we'd stop the prize train because it's Sunday? Well, here at Android Police, we give away awesome stuff seven days a week during the holidays, so we've got a bag of goodies for you today, courtesy of RadioShack.
Even in the event you do win one of the great phones we've got up for grabs today, you might want to check out RadioShack this holiday season regardless - they've got a whole bunch of phones you can get free today on new 2-year agreements on AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon as part of their holiday free phone sale. There's no question – a good Bluetooth keyboard can enhance your tablet's productivity by leaps and bounds. The only trouble, though, is the hassle of navigating a touch screen while typing. This is where a Bluetooth mouse comes in handy. If you've been thinking of grabbing these accessories for your Android tablet, Motorola is providing you with a great chance, offering their Bluetooth keyboard for just $39.99 (that's $30 off list price), and throwing in a Bluetooth mouse (normally $29.99) for free. The official Race Of Champions game of unbelievable quality that Invictus has been teasing us with since October was just released in the Android Market. First organized in 1988, RoC is a real annual motorsport event "where stars from Formula One, World Rally Championship, NASCAR, sportscars and touring cars compete against each other, going head-to-head in identical cars" (per Wikipedia).
The Android version has stunning graphics and the level of detail you would regularly expect from a console game. Read More
A few days ago, we received a mystery package from the good folks at RadioShack. Inside the package were three phones - the Samsung Stratosphere on Verizon, HTC EVO Design 4G on Sprint, and Samsung Infuse 4G on AT&T. Since these phones are ours to do with what we please, we've decided to do what we always do when we end up with extra goodies: give them away.
Since we have three phones to hand out, we're going to make each contest quick and dirty. Read More
Amazon Wireless, one of our favorite online mobile retailers, launched its Black Friday promotions a little early this year, and boy are they good!
Did I say good? I meant absolutely incredible (though, unfortunately, only for new customers): every single phone at Amazon Wireless sold by Verizon Wireless, AT&T, and Sprint is going for just 1 penny.
Yup, even such $299 monsters as the HTC Rezound 4G and the DROID RAZR, along with the Galaxy S II variants (including the Skyrocket) are all priced down to a cent above free. Read More
More often than not, we scoff at Amazon's free premium app of the day, because, let's face it -- there isn't much that screams premium about most of them. That's not the case today, however, because QuickOffice Pro and Pro HD (for Honeycomb tablets) are both free in the Amazon Appstore.
QuickOffice Pro/Pro HD are both great office suites for anyone who needs to edit or view documents, spreadsheets, or powerpoint presentations on the go, and for today's price, you can't beat them. Read More
Yesterday I reviewed one of the most full-featured (and full-priced) EVO 3D cases currently available: Trident's Kraken Adaptive Modular System. If you can afford it, it's a great choice, even if it may be a bit on the hefty side (I recommend applying only the middle part of the case, the "Perseus" layer).
For construction workers, hikers, and other outdoorsy types, it's a dream come true. And even if your job doesn't demand the kind of rough-and-tough case that can withstand anything from a roundhouse kick to a good ol' drop on cement, it wouldn't hurt to win a $45 case for free, would it? Read More
I don't usually post Amazon Appstore apps outside of our social media accounts, but today I felt compelled. There are a few options when it comes to office replacement apps that can read and write all your docs, presentations, and spreadsheets - most of them costing over $10. I've been eyeing OfficeSuite for a while, but never really bothered to try it out.
Well, I just did because OfficeSuite Pro 5 is free at the Amazon Appstore today, and after playing with it, I have to say it's the best office app for Android I've tried so far (at least based on my first impressions). Read More
