If you use Google Voice, or simply make the occasional outgoing call via Gmail, Google's got some great news for you. The service is going to continue to be free throughout 2013 for users in the U.S. and Canada! International callers will still have the same rates applied. In short, nothing is really changing, and that's a good thing.
When Google first introduced the ability to make phone calls in Gmail, it said the service would be free through at least the end of 2010. Read More
One of the bigger mobile games that still somehow manages to disappear under the marketing behemoth of Angry Birds is Cut the Rope. Now, the company behind that title has released a new adventure: Pudding Monsters. The basic gist is, there is red, gelatinous pudding in the fridge, and man is the guy who owns that fridge a jerk. He keeps eating all of these clearly-sentient and terrified desert creatures. Read More

Usually we'd save a cool live wallpaper for our next roundup, but this one's just so groovy we had to let our readers know about it now. GyroSpace 3D is a live wallpaper that, like many others, uses your device's gyroscope for visual effects. But the space-scapes shown off in GyroSpace move around on a three-dimensional plane, coming in and out of the user's filed of view with remarkable smoothness. It's a neat effect that's not unlike a stereoscopic 3D screen, without the added hardware. Read More
You're clearly not tired of zombies, are you? How could you be? They're the perfect surrogate for people in violent video games. Without worrying about any of the moral consequences, you can shoot, chainsaw, maim, electrify, incinerate, or nominate them for Oscars! Try doing that with a normal human being! In Zombiewood, the carnage takes place in a Hollywood (get it?) backlot, the one place you've always wanted to let loose and break stuff. Read More

Of course, we use the word "card" here rather loosely as anyone who's played a card game before, digital or otherwise, is likely to be a little flummoxed by how this game works. Read More
Intuit, the company behind Quicken for Windows and Mac, has released a free mobile companion app for users of Quicken 2013 for Windows.

Rather than just offering a stripped down version of the existing desktop application, Intuit has built most of the features that are available on the desktop into the mobile app; you can view your spending by category, with graphs available on the tablet version, and create alerts to notify you of activity on your account. Sure, HTC may have already announced the One X+ with AT&T as its exclusive provider here in the States, but that doesn't take away from what a solid device the original One X is right now. Read More
