Welcome to the latest entry in our Bonus Round series, wherein we tell you all about the new Android games of the day that we couldn't get to during our regular news rounds. Consider this a quick update for the dedicated gamers who can't wait for our bi-weekly roundups, and don't want to wade through a whole day's worth of news just to get their pixelated fix. Today we've got a new title from Crescent Moon, a sequel to a tower defense favorite, unique puzzle and adventure games, and an Xperia Play-optimized version of a popular beat-em-up. [New Game] Sega Takes The Highway To The Danger Zone With Arcade Flight Sim After Burner Climax [Updated]

You might not have heard of Sega's After Burner [sic] series if you don't frequent the arcade. It's one of Sega's oldest franchises, centered around flight simulations of fighter jets, though the games' arcade origins give them a more casual approach to the genre than, say, Ace Combat. (In fact, the games have always felt a lot like Space Harrier.) The last entry in the series, 2006's After Burner Climax, just touched down on the Play Store for a cool three bucks.

Players will pilot some of the Air Force and Navy's finest machines, including the F14, F15 and F18, through 20 stages against a variety of airborne enemies.

Amazing Flight Simulator X-Plane Drops Price Tag, Now Free On The Play Store

Flight simulator players are something of a different breed. Flight simulation games can require hours of attention to what, for many people, is an extremely tedious (boring), monotonous (boooooring) task. But, the best simulators on the market are so good (realistic) that you can actually use them as part of a professional flight simulator. X-Plane (for the desktop) is that good.

Now, the Android game is no substitute for getting your pilot's license, but Laminar Research, the company that makes the game, promises "85% of the accuracy" of the desktop version. Which is amazing, considering just how much less hardware horsepower you're dealing with on a smartphone compared to a modern PC.

In a time long before Captain America was even a glimmer in Strategic Scientific Reserve's eye, there was another World War. Did you know that? Yep. There were a lot of airplanes in it. Sky Gamblers: Rise of Glory lets players take those planes up in the air in a flight sim/aerial combat game that actually looks rather polished. Take a look:

Sky Gamblers has been released before, but it looks like it was a Sony-exclusive for a while (nearly all reviews were from Sony devices). Now, everyone can get in on the action. With a compatible device, of course.
