SNK Playmore Hits Android With A Fatal Fury Special, Walks Away With $3.99

Most of the games in the Play Store from SNK Playmore are related to The King of Fighters and Metal Slug franchises, but these are far from the only ones the company has produced over the years. Fighting game fans in particular have been able to enjoy Samurai Shodown II, along with an entry in the Fatal Fury series—Garou: Mark of the Wolves. Now the company has released the arcade hit Fatal Fury Special into the Play Store as well.

Fatal Fury Special has been around since 1993, making this the time to celebrate its 25th anniversary.

[New Game] SNK Playmore Brings The King Of Fighters '98 Classic 2D Hit To Android For $3.99

The King of Fighters '98 was a special release from the very beginning. As the fifth game in SNK's popular fighting game series, it attracted players by bringing back brawlers who were killed off in previous versions. Future releases would return to the storyline, but '98 did not care and lacked a plot of its own. The game was all about the fighting, and now it's available for Android.

'98 is the fourth King of Fighters game SNK has brought to the platform, following last month's quirky fighting-rhythm hybrid. This port contains numerous game modes and includes the ability for two players to compete on a single device using two Bluetooth controllers.

[New Game] Dreamcast Fans Swoon As 3D Fighter Classic SoulCalibur Lands In The Google Play Store

We don't have Tekken. We don't have Street Fighter. We don't have DOA. But Namco just gave fighter fans one hell of a reason to celebrate: the original SoulCalibur is now available on Android. The Dreamcast port of this arcade fighter favorite has long been considered one of the gems of the genre, and you can play it on your phone right now. It's a pricey $6.67 and compatible with Gingerbread and up.

SoulCalibur (and to a lesser extent the original Soul Edge) shook up the young 3D fighter genre by introducing swords and other melee weapons. Each character in the game uses a unique weapon and fighting style, from swords, to quarterstaffs, to nunchucks, to...

[New Game] Pacific Rim Gets A Second Official Android Game: Surprise, It's An Infinity Blade Clone

Pacific Rim comes to theaters tomorrow, and I'm already planning my route. Giant robots, Godzilla-style monsters, and a complete absence of Shia LaBeouf - what more could you want from a summer blockbuster? How about an official Android game... or two? The "full" Pacific Rim game comes from Reliance Games, a developer that tends to specialize in licensed titles. It's not to be confused with the other official game, which is more of an AR gimmick. Their current game library doesn't really inspire much confidence, but come on! Giant robots!

Unfortunately, the game takes the incredibly stale approach of copying Infinity Blade and Rage of the Gladiator, with swipes and taps replacing real fighting in a reaction-based environment.

[New Game] Glu Mobile Returns To Ancient Rome With Blood & Glory: Legend

What we do in life echoes in eternity. But what you do in between classes or on the bus home might not matter quite so much. Even so, you can squeeze in some fantasy-flavored gladiatorial combat with Glu Mobile's latest high-profile title, Blood & Glory: Legend. The sequel to the original Blood & Glory expands with new stages and a new story, advanced via a motion comic-style cutscenes. Like most of Glu's recent offerings, the game is free, but you can upgrade your appearance and weapons with in-app purchases.
