ESPN's Fantasy Football app is now 'Fantasy Sports,' includes baseball, basketball, and hockey

Pretty much every media company that has so much as a pinky toe dipped into the sports pool wants a bit of that lucrative fantasy market, and since ESPN is (allegedly) nothing but sports, you can bet they're making a go of it. Previously the Disney subsidiary published dedicated fantasy apps for both football (that's the American kind with the big dudes in armor, not the other kind with the little dudes in shorts) and baseball, but now they're consolidated into a single app, and basketball and hockey can come along for the ride.

ESPN Renames College Football App To 'Championship Drive' And Gives It A Big Makeover In v4.0

Dear football fans. Remember that makeover that you were too insecure to get? Well one of ESPN's many sports apps is getting it done for you. Not only does the network's College Football app look like a whole new person, it has a new name to boot. ESPN Championship Drive, despite being version 4, wants you to view it as a separate individual.

NFL Mobile App Updated With Redesigned Home Page To Bring In The Upcoming Season

The beginning of this year's NFL season is fast approaching, which means it's time for fans to start getting their ducks in a row. HDTV? Check. Ice cold beverages? Check. Android app?

Android app?

So you uninstalled it. I understand. But the better part of a year has passed, and it's time to give it another go. The NFL has pushed out an update to its official Android offering, and it may just take care of some of those previous issues that put you off in the first place (though my first impression of the app is that it's still kind of slow).

[New App] NFL Fantasy Football Advisor Gives You Fantasy Advice From The Experts, Charges Three Bucks For The Privilege

In case you haven't noticed, fantasy sports is kind of a big deal. You can't get through a single NFL broadcast without being bombarded by fantasy-flavored reports, analysis, and even advertising (including this commercial being shown every single break). The link for "Fantasy" is the first thing on NFL.com - not tickets, not NFL Network subscriptions, not overpriced jerseys. In that context, the official NFL Fantasy App Advisor makes a lot more sense.

This isn't the official tie-in app for the NFL's branded fantasy football service - that's this one. Neither is it the first fantasy-themed assistance app to come from the NFL; Fantasy Cheat Sheet is available in both standard and HD flavors.

[New App] CBS Replaces Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Fantasy Football App With Less Crappy Version

Just two more months, football fans, and your long wait will be over. Many NFL fans use the summer months to prepare their fantasy football teams and leagues, in the gentleman jock's alternative to Dungeons and Dragons. CBS has its own fantasy service (just like ESPN, Yahoo, the NFL itself, and starting in 2014, the official Android Police Fantasy Football Service) that was marked by an impressively awful Android app, lazily ported from the iOS version. CBS has scrapped the older app, listing and all, and thrown up a new version. It's a free download for Android 2.2 and up, though the fantasy service itself is paid.

NFL.com Fantasy Football App Updated With New, Less Awful User Interface For 2013 [Updated]

The long summer months are a hard time in the life of a football fan. The NFL Draft is a bitter memory, and September is a long-anticipated hope, a promise after three months and forty years wandering in the sports desert. It's also the time when the infrastructure for America's most popular game gets a much-needed refresh, and today that includes the official NFL.com Fantasy Football app. The app has been updated for the 2013 season, with all the new players, updated stats, and a vastly improved user interface.

ESPN Fantasy Football Updated For 2013 Season, Can't Make Opening Day Come Any Faster

It's hard out there for a football fan. With almost five months to go and nothing but basketball, baseball, golf, tennis, NASCAR, and that game all the foreigners play with their feet to tide us over, it's going to be a long summer. If you're one of the millions who can't get enough of fantasy football, you can kill time with the official ESPN Fantasy Football app, updated for the Draft and thankfully devoid of an annual re-title. It's available as a free, ad-supported download for devices running Gingerbread or later.

[New App] NFLRUSH Offers A Slightly Tweaked Fantasy Football For Kids, Plus Scholarship Prizes

This may shock some of you, but there's a surprisingly small amount of overlap between tech bloggers and fantasy sports players. (Careful, gentle readers - you don't want to become over-gasped.) So it was with some confusion that I found a new official NFL fantasy football app, when there are already two published in the Play Store. The latest, NFLRUSH, is something of a toned-down, kid-friendly version of fantasy: instead of carefully picking your team at the beginning of the season and trading with your league-mates each week, NFLRUSH allows kids to pick a fresh roster after every game.
