You know how everyone is excited for Google's Android event on Monday (October 29)? Sorry to rain on your parade (heh), but they just cancelled it thanks to Hurricane Sandy.

No word yet on when it will be rescheduled for, but obviously we'll let you know as soon as we do. Until then, you can always console yourself by checking out what we expected to see at the event - namely, Android 4.2, the Nexus 10, and the Nexus 4.

After seeing a deluge of rumors, leaks, and hoax after hoax this season, it looks like we're finally starting to wind down. With Google's Android event a mere 8 days away, it's time to clear away the muck and take a look at what we expect to make an appearance just a couple days before Halloween. Let's start with the stuff we're most confident in and work our way down, shall we?

By now, you've probably at least heard about The Big Android BBQ. It's big, because it's in Texas. It's about Android, because we probably wouldn't post about it otherwise. There's BBQ, because who doesn't love BBQ?

What you may not know about the BBQ is that this is its third year as a thing. Like most other events, it gets better with age, and this year should be the best one yet.

There's a good chance that the bulk of you completely missed the RAZR i announcement. Why? Because it was held in London and happened in the middle of the night for those of us in the US. Never fear, though, if you simply must see Moto talk up the RAZR i and all of its 2GHz glory, the full event is now available for streaming on YouTube.

Enough chatter - hit play to watch the magic.

"I know you're out there. I can feel you now. I know that you're afraid. You're afraid nothing's going to change. I don't know the future. I didn't come here to tell you what's going to be announced. I came here to tell you how it's going to be teased. I'm going to send out this invite, and then I'm going to show these people what they want to see. I'm going to show them a world without Samsung, or HTC.

Facebook's official app for Android got a nice update today, bringing with it just a few changes, though the enhancements it does bring do make the app just a tad more intuitive and functional.

The update includes a new event creation interface that allows users schedule events of all types in a snap, choosing locations, times, and privacy settings all from one screen. Also included is a "new upload flow" for sharing photos.

While the world waits for Google's own $200 7" tablet to be announced at Google I/O, CNET is reporting that Amazon may be ready to announce a successor to the wildly popular Kindle Fire this summer. The tech blog reports that Amazon may be preparing for a July 31st launch event to announce the next Kindle-branded tablet.

CNET's sources also point to a built-in camera and physical volume controls among the additions.

Google announced today that it will be holding a special event on Wednesday, June 6th, regarding the future of Google Maps. Anyone who knows Google knows that these products are huge for the company, ranking right up there with Gmail and Android. More importantly, however, Google Maps is very important to Google's largest competitor: Apple. Which is why, when Google announces an event for one of its last major strongholds on iOS mere days before Apple's WWDC, we take notice.

Finally, an end to all rumors about the Galaxy S III and its variants. Or is it? We'll find out at Samsung's launch event, which we're covering live on location in London. My hat's off to Samsung for creating more buzz about this phone than any other company making Android devices has ever made about any Android phone or tablet, all without actually revealing it .

The action starts May 3rd at 11AM PDT, 2PM EDT, 7PM BST (London time) - the live coverage form on this page will automatically update when the wheels are in motion.

Samsung Mobile, as part of what has certainly been an epic lead-up to a new flagship so far, released an official Unpacked 2012 companion app to Google's Play Store today, bringing some awesome functionality both to those lucky enough to attend the event and everyone else.

One of the most impressive features of the app is that it allows users to watch the event in real time. This means users can watch the unveiling of the "Next Galaxy" live no matter where they are.
