The Samsung Gear VR is more akin to Google's Cardboard than HTC's Vive or LG's 360VR. You rely on your phone for the screen, like Cardboard, but you have more possibilities for control thanks to the included physical buttons. Samsung has also been pushing its Milk VR store heavily, collaborating with different content providers and benefitting from its Oculus partnership to provide exclusive material to its Gear VR users. It has created an interesting gadget and platform, one that I have personally been eying for a while but haven't had the chance to test yet.
While many users have gotten a Gear VR for free with the pre-order of a Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge, even more Samsung smartphone owners don't have the virtual reality headset yet. Read More
When eBay released its version 4.0 interface revamp back in September of last year, I was slightly disappointed. The app looked like a mishmash of design styles and ideas that didn't really belong on any platform but that were trying too hard to not offend anyone either on Android or iOS. It lacked life and felt clinical, with so much grey and white and nary another color. It also removed access to your personal lists, an omission that I still despise because I am very picky about organizing my items in differentiated and clear lists.
But now eBay is rethinking its mobile design altogether, introducing a new look with more colors, clearer layouts, and a lot of Material Design. Read More
BlackBerry launched the Priv late last year at the stratospheric price of $700. It's not an unheard of price for a flagship phone, but the first Android phone from a struggling OEM? Maybe not the best idea. The Priv has been showing up on mega-discount lately, and today it's on sale for the lowest price yet. You can pick a new unlocked Priv up from eBay for $379.99. Read More
It's always fun when the newest flagships start seeing their prices drop, but this deal on a brand new 32GB Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge is not just a price drop–it's a steal. At $629, it's a full $150 less than the price you'd pay to T-Mobile or the like. You can get it a little cheaper on Amazon, at $752, but this deal is still over $120 better than that.
Even better, this isn't some fly-by-night seller that you have to worry about. It's Newegg, of selling legitimate electronics fame. There are a few things to note about this listing, though. Read More
The Galaxy S7 has been out for a while now, and it's about time the price started dropping. After all, it's not the only 2016 flagship out there. You can pick up the unlocked GS7 (G930F) on eBay for a very competitive $559.99. That's $70-80 cheaper than the price elsewhere and much cheaper than the US carriers. Read More
The Galaxy S7 Edge is the current highlight of Samsung's smartphone lineup... and boy, don't they know it. The 32GB version of the phone goes for approximately $800 unlocked in the US, well above the non-Edge version of the S7 and considerably more expensive than more budget-minded flagships like the Nexus 6P or the Moto X. But that doesn't mean you're out of luck when it comes to deal hunting. Right now an eBay vendor is offering the international, unlocked, dual-SIM version of the S7 Edge for just $669.99 . Silver, gold, and black models are available.
The LG G5 hasn't really lived up to expectations, and the price is up there. If that phone isn't doing it for you, but you have a hankering for a removable battery, the LG V10 might be the phone for you. It has similar hardware to the G4, but it's bigger with sturdier construction, and there's that second display. It's not usually a cheap phone, but the unlocked version is on sale today for $449.99 on eBay. Read More
Patience is a virtue, especially when it comes to the fickle world of yearly hardware upgrades. If you're willing to wait a bit for that fancy new phone, you can save an insane amount of money. For example, a brand new version of 2014's flagship Samsung phone, still only a year and a half old, can now be had for less than half of its original price. And from two different vendors, no less! Android tablets with LTE aren't all that common. Okay, Android tablets in general aren't exactly a hot segment of the market. The pickings are particularly slim for a slate with cellular data.
The Galaxy Tab S2 is one of the best options currently on the market, with or without LTE. But if you do want that freedom to browse the web basically anywhere, now is a good time to open your wallet. Read More
