So you want a decent Android tablet (not one of those cheap knock-offs), but you don't want to break the bank, and an affordable seven-incher isn't quite what you had in mind. How about a 10.1-inch Toshiba Thrive for $250? Sure, it's not a Tegra 3-packing Transformer Prime, but at less than half the price of the TFP, it's still hard to beat. In fact, this is one of the best prices that we've ever seen on a premium Tegra 2 tablet.

This is a refurbished model.

Since it has been a while since we've talked about the Thrive, here's a reminder of what's under its hood:

  • 10.1-inch 1280x800 IPS display
  • 1GHz dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor
  • 1GB RAM
  • 16GB internal storage
  • 5MP rear shooter, 2MP front camera
  • Weight: 1.7lbs
  • Thickness: 15mm
  • 5MP rear camera, 2MP front
  • Full-size USB and HDMI-out ports, plus miniUSB port
  • SD card slot (with SDXC support)
  • Android 3.1 (Android 4.0 upgradeable)

So there you go.

Popular game, book, and textbook site Half.com (owned and operated by eBay) now has an official app, and as with just about every other shopping app, it allows you to browse the virtual store shelves, search for specific items, and place orders. It also includes a nifty barcode scanner to help make sure you snag the right item (and don't get ripped off... *ahem* college bookstores).

With the Half.com Android application you can buy media titles in books, textbooks, movies, music, games and game systems - anytime, anywhere.

Get the best price for next semester's classes by using the barcode scanner to search for textbook titles and have them shipped right to your door.

Though it has garnered a lot less attention than Amazon's Kindle Fire, Barnes and Noble's latest NOOK - the NOOK Tablet - it was released to solid reviews. The $50 price premium over the Fire - while warranted because of the doubled internal storage, doubled RAM, and SD card slot - also helped the Kindle Fire sell more units. Now, though, the Tablet is on sale for $199 with free shipping at eBay Daily Deals - meaning it matches the price of the less powerful Kindle Fire. Certainly a bargain, especially considering that the NT is a powerful budget tablet with a small but dedicated developer community backing it up.

Lenovo-ThinkPad-Tablet-3

There's a sea of similarly-spec'd Android 3.x tablets on the market right now, so the one with the best price (or best accessories, perhaps) can be the reigning champ on any given day. Today is the day for the Lenovo ThinkPad, which is currently available on eBay for $370 with free shipping.

What sets the ThinkPad Tablet apart from the competition and Lenovo's own IdeaPad K1 is the 99-level pressure-sensitive digitizer that works with a digital stylus/pen. Not many other tablets support any kind of pressure-sensitive interaction, so if you like to sketch, the ThinkPad may just be what the doctor prescribed.

With its $99 fire sale price, the TouchPad finally hit the sweet spot. Units have been selling like crazy over the past week, but it seems as though one new owner got a little more than he bargained for. No, unfortunately HP didn't accidentally send him 100 units for the price of one, but he did allegedly receive a unit running Android 2.2, rather than webOS.

Making its way onto eBay, the TouchPad has already racked up 8 bids and is sitting at $685 with over 2 days still remaining on the auction, so people are obviously interested in the device.

If you've been craving an Android tablet with ports-o-plenty, then the Toshiba Thrive is definitely the way to go. Rocking full USB and HDMI ports, as well as a miniUSB port and SD card slot, this dual-core Android 3.1 tablet can handle all of the peripherals that you can possibly throw at it, and for today only, you can grab the 8GB version for $380 from eBay Daily Deals.

2011-08-01 11h40_04

On top of the full array of ports, you'll also get the hardware specs of other high-end Honeycomb tablets:

  • 10.1-inch IPS LCD display
  • NVIDIA Tegra 2 (AP20H) dual-core processor
  • 1GB RAM
  • 8 GB internal storage
  • Weight: 1.7lbs
  • Thickness: 15mm
  • 5MP rear camera, 2MP front
  • Full-size USB and HDMI-out ports, plus miniUSB port
  • SD card slot (with SDXC support)
  • Android 3.1 Honeycomb (via OTA update)

Of course, all those ports come at a price, as this by far the thickest and heaviest Android tablet on the market.

Update 6.30.11: This deal is back for another go! We've updated the links to reflect the new listing, so grab it while it's hot.

2011-06-30 10h37_44

It's not often that we see Motorola's Honeycomb tablets on sale, so when I saw $100 off the dual-core XOOM Wi-Fi as this morning's eBay Daily Deal, I had to let you guys know as soon as possible.

The deal is for the larger 32GB version and brings the price down from $599.99 to $499.99. According to the countdown, it will last for another 4.5 hours or so, which means the tablet will be available at a discount until about 1 p.m.

Internet auctionhouse eBay has pushed an update to its official Android app today that brings a number of long-desired features, including a slew of seller features. You can now list an item from start-to-finish, and every thing in between, all without ever touching a computer.

Here's a look at the full changelog:

  • Selling on eBay is now supported (available in US and UK with support for more countries coming soon!)
  • Quickly list an item from start to finish on your phone and include up to 8 photos
  • Use the integrated barcode scanner from RedLaser to prefill item details when listing an item
  • Revise an item from your Active Selling list
  • Relist an item from your Unsold list
  • Sell one like this feature available when viewing a similar item on eBay
  • Schedule an auction to start immediately or choose a later date
  • End an active auction
  • Mark an item as shipped
  • Contact the buyer
  • Updated home screen
  • View your own feedback ratings and recent comments from eBay members
  • More options for refining your search results: condition, free shipping, location, completed listings and sold items only
  • Fix for issue that restricted bidding for users on specific carriers/devices
  • Other bug fixes and improvements

Unfortunately, as you can see, the new selling features are only available in the US and UK at the moment, with "support for more countries coming soon."

The listing in the Web Market hasn't been update as of right now, but you should be able to pull this update just fine from the Mobile Market or App Brain using the widget below.

There's no denying that the ASUS Eee Pad Transformer is one of the best Android tablets on the market. The keyboard dock makes it a one of a kind, and its unusually low price tag gives it more bang-for-your-buck than the bulk of the competition. Today's Daily Deal on eBay is the 32GB version of the Transformer (normally $500) with some pretty sweet accessories. While this bundle doesn't include the keyboard dock, it does bring a $90 Klipsch stereo headset and an 8GB microSD card to the table.

2011-06-16 10h59_48

The Klipsch headset (1012134 ProMedia, if you want to get specific) is a sleek, red-and-black noise-cancelling in-ear setup designed with gaming in mind.

It looks like eBay's Daily Deals feature may become the go-to source for Android tablet shopping - just last week they had the Motorola XOOM Wi-Fi for $100 off, and today, the Viewsonic gTablet has found its way onto the site for a mere $250 with free shipping.

2011-06-07 12h44_08

This isn't the first time that the gTablet has made its way into our deals category, either - we've actually featured it a few different times when it was on Woot. This is, however, the lowest price that we've seen this dual-core tablet go for.

A quick spec reminder is probably in order, so here you go:

  • 10.1 inch 1024x600 display
  • 1GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual-core processor
  • 512MB RAM
  • 16GB storage with microSD card slot
  • 1.3 MP front camera
  • Android 2.2

Even though it's not rocking Honeycomb, I still say this tablet is absolutely worth $250  - but you better hurry, because this deal can come to a close at any time!
