While Ice Cream Sandwich continues to struggle to gain significant proliferation, more and more devices are receiving the bump to Android 4.0. The latest entrant into the post-crappy-design world of Android is the Motorola Droid 4. According to Verizon's software update page, a new upgrade is on the way. In addition to bringing Android 4.0.4 and everything that entails, the software will also enable Global Roaming capabilities. This should make international travellers very happy. Read More
In what seems to be a major social media fail, Motorola does not
appear to be teasing a new device after all. TechRadar
spent some time chatting with a Motorola rep about the whole incident, only to find out that it was a false alarm. Oh, Motorola, why do you build us up, baby, just to let us down?
Good job, guys.
Motorola has taken to its Facebook page with a bit of a game teasing an upcoming device. Read More
Manufacturers, you're awful at naming things. Sorry. It's true. In many cases, you've either muddied the brand of your flagship devices, or made it incredibly difficult for customers to know what they should be asking for when they walk into a store. This is probably not a good thing since you want customers to buy your stuff. More than that, though, you want them to love your stuff, so they'll buy more of it. Read More
There are few things that are more of a drag, in the mobile device world, than having to find where you left your micro USB cord to plug in your device just to copy a couple of files over to your computer. Most of the time wireless services like Dropbox help alleviate this need. For the times that those aren't enough, Droid NAS can turn your device into wireless storage. Provided you use a Mac or another Android device to access it. Read More

Looks like Motorola cancelled the soak test due to "deployment issues." Word has it that the update could still happen sometime next week.
DROID RAZR and RAZR MAXX users excited for an Ice Cream Sandwich update by last week's Best Buy screenshot should brace themselves for some bad news – it looks like the aforementioned devices won't be getting Ice Cream Sandwich just yet after all.

By most accounts, the Motorola DROID RAZR is an excellent phone, though battery life is questionable. Which is exactly what makes the RAZR MAXX such a great phone: at 9mm, it's still thin, but packs a battery with 85% more capacity (1780 vs 3300mAh). At the moment, the RAZR MAXX isn't sold in Europe and Middle East, but the company has just announced that will change sometime in May.
A quick refresher of the specs:
- Android 2.3.6 (Android 4.0 update reportedly coming tomorrow)
- 1.2GHz dual-core TI OMAP4430 CPU
- 1GB RAM
- 16GB built-in storage, 16GB microSD card in the box (32GB of storage total)
- 4.3" Super AMOLED qHD display
- 8MP rear shooter, 1.3MP front
- 8.99mm thin, 4.5oz
No word on what specific day it will go on sale, but we're sure the company will release some details closer to then. Read More
Looks like Rezound a RAZR/Maxx owners could be seeing Ice Cream Sandwich as early as next week, if this leaked document from Best Buy that just landed in our inbox is to be believed.
As you can clearly see, Wednesday, April 4th is slated to be the day that the RAZR twins see the Android 4.0 update; while the Rezound update should begin rolling out just two days later.
Now, we realize that it's pretty close to April Fool's Day, so before you scream out "Fake!", we've already reached out to our sources to verify the validity of the image, and it appears to be the real deal. Read More
Ok, so maybe the "these aren't the Droids you're looking for" joke is a little 2009, but that doesn't make this Android being carried off by Jawas any less adorable. If you're looking for a sweet deal on a shirt, but missed out on last week's Tanga deal, you can grab this shirt from TeeFury right now. The $10 price tag only lasts for another eight hours, so get a move on. Read More
