[Quick Game Hands-On] Clever Contraptions

Last weekend, a developer (and redditor) posted on Andreddit to promote his new game, Clever Contraptions. He said he was "inspired by the classic game 'the incredible machine' [sic]" - a promise that triggered my nostalgia and prompted me to download it immediately. In the days since, I've managed to spend a bit of time with the game, and I have to admit I've come away pleased, despite a few minor niggles.

It's April 28th, the official release date for the 2nd generation Droid Incredible from HTC, and if you haven't studied this phone in detail yet, you're probably wondering just what exactly has changed since the original "Dinc" entered the market last April. Let's have a look, shall we?

HTC Droid Incredible 2 Showcase App Lands In The Market, And It Ain't Pretty

We've heard rumors that the sequel to the hugely popular HTC Droid Incredible would be hitting VZW stores on April 28th, and it looks like that date may well be the real deal. Of course, all this really does is put us one step closer to a confirmed release date, so there's no reason I would suggest installing it.

Gingerbread-Based MIUI 1.3.18 Now Available For EVO 4G And Desire HD

If you are into custom ROMs at all, it's likely you have heard of MIUI. While its "fruity" UI is a deal-breaker for some, if you use any third-party launcher (LauncherPro, ADW, etc.), you'll find a well-built and speedy alternative to the standard list of ROMs (and you don't have to look at rounded squares all day).

MIUI-GINGERBREAD-540x141

Yesterday, the folks at MIUI Developers gave owners of the Desire HD and EVO 4G a tasty treat - namely, a new version of MIUI based on Android 2.3.3 (Gingerbread).

SlashGear has confirmed with HTC today that the Desire HD, Desire Z, and Incredible S (along with the standard Desire) will be receiving the bump to Gingerbread some time in the second quarter of this year. But, there's a potential caveat: US phones might not be included.

It remains unknown if HTC was also referring to carrier-branded versions of the aforementioned devices in its statement, and if it was, if those devices would be receiving updates at the same time as their unlocked, HTC-branded siblings.
