Crowdfunded Console OS Accused Of 'Stealing' Android-x86 Project's Open Source Code

The world of open source collaborative projects can be murky at times, and throwing crowdfunding into the mix doesn't make it any clearer. This odd intersection is the source of much drama in the small but passionate community that wants to see Android become as widespread on the desktop as it is on mobile. Members of the open source development team over at the Android-x86 Project, which aims to make Android operable on standard PC hardware, claim that Kickstarter project Console OS has "stolen" Android x86 code and presented it, at least in part, as its own creation.

Ubisoft Publishes WWI Drama Game Valiant Hearts: The Great War For Android And Android TV

Valiant Hearts isn't your usual war game. You won't be blasting through thousands of bad guys like BJ Blazkowitz, you won't be commanding an entire army like an over-the-top Command & Conquer general. Valiant Hearts is incredibly story focused, as it considers itself more of a playable comic book than a video game. It's also about World War I, which hasn't exactly been a popular subject for video games.

This trailer is for the PC and console version, but the mobile version looks very similar.

In the various episodes of Valiant Hearts: The Great War, you'll follow the stories of a German family living in France as the war begins, after which the father is deported and drafted into the German army.

Cyanogen Banned From DroidForums.net For Calling Out BlackAndroid – Drama Ensues

Today seems to be the day of drama in the wonderful Android world that we live in. It’s no secret that people rip apps off the Android market and post them elsewhere for free. It’s also no surprise that with Open Source material, people base their apps/Roms off others' work and with that, you always give credit where credit is due.

However, a certain someone, named The BlackAndroid, over at DroidForums, would rather take people’s work, mod it and call it his own. Even better is that they he actually insulted the creator of the source he used, and this creator happened to be Cyanogen, a well respected and known ROM creator.
