DotEmu Releases Classic Adventure Game 'I Have No Mouth, And I Must Scream' On Android

DotEmu is in the habit of porting older but well-liked games to Android. With titles like R-Type, Double Dragon, and Another World under its belt, now we get something a bit more serious. I Have No Mouth, And I Must Scream was released on PC in 1995, based on the 1967 short story of the same name by Harlan Ellison. You can probably gather from the name that this is not a feel-good sort of game.

Classic Horror Adventure Game 'Sanitarium' Is Getting An Android Port By DotEmu, Set For October 29th

The point-and-click adventure game genre is one of the most immersive around. It typically doesn't seek to draw you in with over-the-top action sequences. Instead, you're drawn in by the sheer amount of attention and focus you must give to each detail as you click on every corner of the screen. When something freaks you out, part of the fear comes from just how hard you've been staring.

Sanitarium is one such game from nearly two decades ago. Released in 1998, the PC horror game sucked players into the mind of an amnesiac in a world teetering on the edge of madness.

DotEmu Will Bring PC Dungeon Crawler Titan Quest To Android Later This Year

Have I mentioned lately that DotEmu is awesome? Because it is, and not just because it's the only Android game developer that sounds like a dating service for flightless birds. The company specializes in porting old console and PC games to Android and iOS, perfectly preserving graphics and game mechanics while adding great extras like controller support and Google Play Games integration. At the E3 gaming conference in Los Angeles, DotEmu announced that its next release will be Titan Quest.

Titan Quest was originally released for the PC in 2006. It's a modern take on the top-down dungeon crawler formula typified by Diablo, but instead of a Heaven vs.

DotEmu Brings Ys Chronicles 1, An Update To A Classic 80s Action-RPG, To Android And Android TV

Normally an Android re-release of a decades-old RPG means we're talking about another Squaresoft or Enix port, but this one is digging deep into the annals of Japanese role-playing game history. The Ys series (pronounced... okay, I honestly have no idea how it's pronounced) is a collection of action-RPGs that stretches across four decades and dozens of platforms all the way back to 1987. Ys Chronicles 1, an updated port of the game that began the franchise, is now available on Android from DotEmu.

This is an updated and refined edition of Ys I: Ancient Ys Vanished - the Android version is probably based on the assets of the updated re-release for the PSP and DS made in 2009, as one half of Ys I & II Chronicles.

Heroes Of Might And Magic III Lands On The Play Store: Tablet Tactics Costs $10

Way back in the bygone days of December 2014, we told you that mega-publisher Ubisoft was teaming up with the nostalgia specialists at DotEmu to bring the turn-based strategy classic Heroes of Might and Magic III to Android. Today they published the revived game in the Play Store, right on schedule (those DotEmu folks are pros, I tell ya). You can buy the game for $9.99 - pricey, but not unreasonable - for tablets and tablets only.

[New Game] DotEmu Resurrects Classic Gobliiins Adventure Games In New Trilogy

DotEmu has made a habit out of bringing beloved retro games to the Play Store in adaptations that are both faithful and technically excellent. The latest game to get their treatment is Gobliiins, a series of point-and-click adventure games that graced various platforms in the early 1990s. As they did before with the Double Dragon series, DotEmu has packaged three games together for $2.99.

Gobliiins is half story, half puzzle, tasking the player with controlling multiple goblin characters who have different skills and abilities. You progress through the story by solving the point-and-click puzzle in each area. In addition to the slapstick humor, the original games' popularity had a lot to do with art and character designs from French illustrator Pierre Gilhodes.
