This week was slightly different for the one game + one app 10-cent deals on the Play Store. The game, Guns'n'Glory Premium, dropped its price first and unlike the majority of previous deals, it happened worldwide. The app, however, was nowhere to be seen until now, and ta-da, it's Tiny Planet FX Pro. Womp Womp.
That's not the most enticing discount, especially considering that it has dropped to 10 cents before. But a deal is a deal and in case you never grabbed Tiny Planet before and you really like shooting panoramic photos and making them look like a small globular planet with a perspective shifting yet oddly nice effect, then this is the perfect app and discount for you. Gather 'round folks, I have a Play Store discount for you and this is one you can all benefit from. Yes, for once, this deal isn't limited to a few European countries plus Mexico, Brazil, Australia, and maybe India. Nope, this deal is worldwide, or at least it appears to be valid in more than 25 countries that I checked going from Indonesia (IDR 1500) to Bulgaria (BGN 0.20), Switzerland (CHF 0.20), South Africa (ZAR 1.50), Lebanon (LBP 200), Canada (CAD 0.10), the United States (USD 0.10), and more.
The discount is hitting the Guns'n'Glory Premium game, a 4.5-rated strategy action title where you play the bad guys. Read More
Here we are with another week underway and another duo of an app and a game being discounted on the Play Store. This week's titles are Aqualert Premium and Whispering Willows.
The most interesting of the two is the game, Whispering Willows. It's a hand-drawn 2D adventure game originally funded on Kickstarter. You play as Elena who's on a journey in the Willows Mansion to find her missing father and who does so by solving puzzles using her astral projection.
As for Aqualert, it is a water drinking tracker and reminder app that makes it easy to enter how much water you drank and see how many more cups you need to reach your daily goal. Read More
The Galaxy S8 is almost around the corner, but that doesn't mean the S7 and S7 Edge are all of a sudden bad and unusable phones. They still have an excellent display, a fast processor, enough RAM for the most demanding power-users out there, a fantastic camera, water-resistance, and plenty more to offer. But in a couple of months, they will be last year's news and it seems that Samsung wants to clear some stock now before that happens.
So the company is offering a few 256GB EVO+ MicroSD card with the purchase of an S7 or S7 Edge between February 8 and 14, for US residents aged 18 years and above. Read More
What would another week be without two price drops on a game and an app in the Play Store? And this week's selection is interesting, if maybe not as popular among the geek crowd as last week's Twilight Pro.
The app is Weather 14 Days Pro and guess what it does... Weather, yeah, I know, mind-blowing. It's the official app for theweather.com's website and has detailed hourly forecasts for 14 days in over 250000 locations in the world. The app has widgets, notifications, maps, radars, satellites, and a nice Material Design aesthetic. Read More
360 cameras are awesome. I love my LG 360 Cam and find it is perfect for encapsulating a moment in time into one shot and letting you sort of travel back in time and immerse yourself in everything around you during the second the picture or video was taken. If you haven't bought a 360 camera yet and you're wondering what the fuss is about, there's a nice deal on Samsung's Gear 360 today at several retailers dropping the price down to around $273 from its original MSRP of $350.
The Gear 360 has dual 15MP f/2.0 fisheye lenses for 3840 x 1920 360-degree (horizontally and vertically) videos and 30MP still images. Read More
Another week, another combo of app and game deals on the Play Store. And this week, we have a great selection if you ask me.
The app is Twilight Pro Unlock, the paid version of Twilight which filters the blue light from your display at night to limit its effects on your sleep cycle. Even if that's not 100% proven scientifically, the soft red filter does indeed tone down the display and should be more pleasant to look at in dark environments and at night. The Pro version lets you set more than 2 profiles, adjust the transition time, and completely turn off the Twilight service on your phone when it's not working. Read More
Of the few security cameras I have tried (Canary, Piper, Blink), Canary is easily my favorite. It automatically turns to away mode when I'm not around, records short clips when it detects motion, lets me turn the privacy feature on when I'm there, doesn't require any constant fiddling on my part, and integrates with Wink for a lot of automations. I find that the free plan suits me with its 24 hours of recorded motion clips and unlimited bookmarks and downloads, but if I were to travel or get more cameras like that spiffy new Flex, I'd surely need the Membership plan. As many will know, Google Play has certain apps on sale every week for 0.10 in the UK, Spain, Germany, Italy, France, Russia, and Australia. This week is no different, with both Wild Blood and Unified Remote Full on offer.
Wild Blood is set in the time of King Arthur, Queen Guinevere, and Lancelot. King Arthur, fuelled by jealousy for Lancelot for seducing Guinevere, gets tricked by his sister, Morgana, and opens Hellgate, letting all manner of demons lose. Morgana, meanwhile, has captured Guinevere and is holding her hostage on the ancient island of Avalon. Lancelot must confront Morgana and King Arthur in order to save Guinevere and the kingdom. Are you broke after buying all the Christmas presents, attending that expensive NYE party, and maybe even ordering a gadget or two of those that were announced at CES? Here's something that will cost you about a dime and could provide entertainment for hours and hours. Google Play's deals are back and this week we have Lara Croft: Guardian of Light and Cross DJ Pro, both unfortunately not discounted in the US.
Lara Croft was only released in October so it's a relatively new Android game being discounted, even if the title itself came several years late after iOS. The adventure game has puzzles, platforms, fights, and boss battles to get to the Mirror of Smoke and finish the game before sunrise. Read More
