Google released final system images of Android 8.0 earlier today, and now OTAs are starting to roll out. Although, I'm placing strong emphasis on "starting." The first wave of OTAs are targeting devices in the Android beta program, but already there have been reports of failed installations on certain phones. That's a Google launch for you.

Sprint says KEYone's bloatware bug will be fixed in an OTA update

The KEYone is available as an unlocked phone, and that's probably how most BlackBerry fans will buy it. However, there's a Sprint version, too. Owners of the Sprint version recently reported an aggravating battle with bloatware, which was constantly reinstalling itself on the phone. Sprint has now confirmed this is a bug, and it'll be fixed soon.

Google is finally pushing Android 7.1.1 to the Nexus 6 again

The Nexus 6 was the launch device for Android 5.0 Lollipop back in 2014, and it's been getting updates ever since. The problem, however, is not all those updates have been good. After deploying some bugged OTA updates earlier this year, Google is finally sending out Android 7.1.1 to the Nexus 6.

Android Wear 2.0 is rolling out to the Asus ZenWatch 2 (1.63-inch)

Google launched Wear 2.0 many moons ago in early 2017, and here we are in the middle of summer and some watches are still waiting on the update after a series of delays. The ZenWatch 2 is no longer among them... at least the larger version. That watch is getting the Wear 2.0 update as we speak while the small version continues to wait.

Android 7.1.1 update is rolling out to the Moto Z and Z Play in Brazil

Motorola started sending out the Android 7.1.1 update to Moto Z Play devices in the US last month, and now it's also doing the same in Brazil, for that device plus the regular Moto Z model. After carrying out soak tests in the region, the final builds are starting to slowly make their way to users of both phones.

OnePlus 5 updates continue to come thick and fast as OxygenOS 4.5.5 begins rolling out

It's been little more than a week since the OnePlus 5 received versions 4.5.2 and 4.5.3 of its OxygenOS software in quick succession. OnePlus isn't resting on its laurels, though, and has announced that the 4.5.5 update is already available, including yet more optimizations and bug fixes.

Asus didn't pop up much on our radar until a few years ago when the ZenFone 2 came in at a competitive price. The ZenFone 3 family hasn't been as popular, but there certainly are more of them. One variant of the ZenFone is the lucky winner of "first Nougat update," the ZenFone 3 Max (model ZC553KL).

ZenFone 3 Zoom updated to Nougat with less bloat, improved UI, Google Feed on home screen, and more

The Asus ZenFone 3 Zoom came out a few months back, packing a giant battery and dual camera array. However, it was also equipped with Android 6.0.1, which is unacceptable as we get on toward the middle of 2017. I guess Asus got the memo, and it's now rolling Android 7.1.1 out to the ZenFone 3 Zoom. Not only does it bring the usual Nougat goodies, this update addresses some of the problems with ZenUI.

OnePlus rolls out OxygenOS 4.5.2 OTA to the OnePlus 5 with optimizations for camera, network stability, and more [Update: 4.5.3 rolling out, too]

The OnePlus 5 hasn't technically started shipping yet, but some of those who got in on the early pre-sale already have their phones. And today, they're getting a new update to go with them. OnePlus is pushing OxygenOS 4.5.2 to the OP5, which brings a number of bug fixes and optimizations.
