[Update: Pixel C] Nexus factory images and OTA ZIPs with July's security updates are now available

The Factory images and OTA ZIPs for July 2016 are now available for the full line of supported Nexus hardware (still waiting for the Pixel C). They're a little behind schedule this month, possibly because it was Independence Day in the United States on Monday, or possibly to leave time for some late-breaking security patches that may have been added in the eleventh hour. The Android Security Bulletin covers the list of vulnerabilities addressed with this set of updates, and for the first time it includes two separate lists: one dated July 1st and the other dated July 5th.

AT&T finally updates the Galaxy S6 Active with Marshmallow and WiFi calling

There are certain things you have to expect when buying a phone on AT&T. For example, updates are going to take longer than other carriers (even Verizon as of late), and that's even more true when the device is a bespoke piece of hardware for the carrier. The Samsung Galaxy S6 Active is such a device, made exclusively for AT&T. It has just now received the Android Marshmallow (6.0.1) update, which includes WiFi calling.

Alcatel Is Finally Rolling Out Android 6.0 For The Unlocked Idol 3

The Idol 3 was a solid phone when it came out last year, but Alcatel quickly fell behind on Android updates. As of now, this phone is still running 5.0.2, but that's about to change. The Marshmallow update is going to start hitting devices today. Like they say, better late than never.

OnePlus Releases OxygenOS 3.0.1 Beta For OnePlus 2, But Still No Final Marshmallow Build

Most flagship phones from last year have gotten their Marshmallow updates by this point, but not the OnePlus 2. Technically, it's not a flagship—it's a flagship killer. OnePlus took time out from killing flagships in March to release a community build (beta) of Marshmallow for the OP2, and now there's an update to that in the form of OxygenOS 3.0.1. Guess what, it's still just a community build.

NVIDIA Finally Rolls Android 6.0.1 Out To The LTE SHIELD Tablet In The US

NVIDIA sent out the first Marshmallow update to the SHIELD Tablet in late 2015 with the SHIELD K1 OTA. It said at the time that the original SHIELD would be updated in early 2016. That was kind of true—a few months later the update started going out to the WiFi-only SHIELD. However, the US LTE SHIELD is only now getting the v4.1 update. Better late than never, I suppose.
