HTC Releases Source Code For T-Mobile G2, Desire Z Along With Maintenance Release Source For Droid Incredible

Fresh on this HTC's servers this morning we have the source code for the latest G2, DZ and Dinc kernels, along with source code for their respective WebKit browsers. While this news may not be much help to those still desperate for a G2 perm-root, it should come in handy once an easy solution for that is achieved, as it will facilitate the creation of custom ROMs for the G2 (and Desire Z).

Ireland Starts Receiving The Latest HTC Android Phones: Desire HD On Vodafone, Meteor Soon To Get Desire HD And Desire Z

While the UK has had the Desire HD since early last week, the EVO look-a-like model and its sibling are only starting to trickle into Irish stores. Currently Vodafone appears to be the only carrier offering one of the new Desires, with the Desire HD available on pre-pay for €479 or €229 on an 18 month €35 contract. However, many Irish Android users appear to be holding out for their network of choice, Meteor, to announce the Desire HD and to a lesser extent the Desire Z.

HTC Desire Z Joins Rank With The T-Mobile G2, Has Its Source Code Exposed To The World

Looks like T-Mobile's G2 isn't the only HTC-built Android device having its source code outed today - the Desire Z (better known as the international version of the G2) has just had its source code revealed as well.

We shouldn't expect to see anything too surprising here since the Desire HD, which runs the same new version of Sense UI, has already had its firmware leaked. However, rest assured we'll keep you posted just in case somebody over at xda-developers or the like discovers a gold nugget hidden inside the code.

HTC Desire HD & Desire Z Delayed Due To "Google Testing"

Bad news for our European friends: word from retailers is that the releases of the HTC Desire HD and Desire Z have been delayed until the end of the month. Why? The phones seem to be caught up in Google's testing process:

Apparently, both units have failed last minute Google TA (Type Approval) testing which is exactly what was said about the original Desire days before release!

HTC Launches 4 New Promotional Videos For Desire HD, Desire Z, EVO 4G, And Droid Incredible

The new HTC Desire HD and Desire Z handsets are coming very soon, and we're incredibly excited about both of them (just take a look at that 5-second Fast Boot technology again).

In order to keep our excitement going, HTC just pushed out a new video of these bad boys flying up in the air, showing themselves off in various ways. I even got slight chills a bit at the end but I think it's mostly due to the epic music selection.

Under The Radar: HTC’s DLNA Companion Box Lets You Wirelessly Stream To Your TV

In the excitement of HTC’s unveiling of the Desire HD and Desire Z in London, we missed out on this sweet little gadget. HTC announced plans to release a Media Link wireless DLNA adaptor in Q4 2010, as a companion piece to its continued expansion of the Sense experience.

What this little box purports to do is allow you to stream media from your DLNA-equipped phone to a suitable TV, irrespective of whether that TV has DLNA or not.

T-Mobile G2 Pre-Orders Starting Tomorrow For Existing Customers?

We already knew it was coming soon thanks to T-Mobile's own online store, but only know has TmoNews discovered that "soon" could mean as early as tomorrow.

That's right, if this internal screenshot proves to be anything more than an image crudely put together in Photoshop, existing T-Mobile customers will be able to pre-order the device starting September 24 and ending October 4. The offer will, apparently, be available at "select" T-Mobile retail stores, through "Care upgrades," and, of course, online at the T-Mobile's dedicated G2 website.

Amazon & Play.com Open Pre-Order For HTC Desire Z And Desire HD, Release Date And Pricing Revealed; Free On £40/Month T-Mobile UK Contract

Yesterday, HTC announced that the G2 and EVO would be going international under the Desire Z and Desire HD names (respectively). With the help of a tipster, Engadget managed to find the phones listed by UK company Play.com and on Amazon.de/Amazon.UK. Retail pricing ranges from £470 for the Desire HD to £430 to £499 for the Desire Z.
