Over the past few weeks we've highlighted several Play Store sales that hit at the end of each week. Today, however, looks like a few devs decided to try middle-of-the-week sales, and we figured some of those may not make it to the week's end. So here it is – a short list of sales that are happening right now.

If any of those strike your fancy, it'd probably be a good idea to pick 'em up sooner rather than later.

Riddle me this: what is better than one big honkin' external battery? Yes, two big honkin' external batteries. If you head over to Amazon right now, you can get two New Trent batteries at quite a discount. In this age of non-removable smartphone batteries, how can you lose?

All you have to do is add the New Trent iCarrier and iGeek batteries to your cart. Then use the coupon code J8F6EA63, and you'll get the $59.95 iGeek for (almost) free. The iCarrier sells for $76.95 and has a 12,000mAh capacity. The iGeek is smaller and more portable, but still packs 9,900mAh of juice.

It's Friday, at least here in the western hemisphere, and a bunch developers seem to have decided to discount their apps. Everything from triple-A games to handy tools are on sale up to 80%. Some have even gone free. Without any further ado, let's get to the deals - if you can't see the widgets right away, wait for the page to load them all. Keep in mind that the widgets below may not reflect current prices.

Update 4/9/13: The deal is back today.

Those who missed out on eBay Daily Deals' recurring deal on the Nexus 7 ($30 VISA gift card, ear buds, 32GB Nexus 7 for $259.99) the last four times we've seen it, Daily Deals has pulled through once again, this time with a significantly better price. Though the 32GB slates up for grabs are refurb and don't come with a random pair of earbuds, $189 is an undeniably good price for a 32GB Nexus 7 which, if new, would cost buyers $249.99 from the Play Store.

Whether Easter to you involves bunnies, crosses, or just heralds super cheap chocolate at the store on Monday, the one thing we can all agree on is that inexpensive apps are cool. A wide array of developers share this belief and, to celebrate your preferred reason to consume candy, have offered steep discounts to their Play Store submissions. Continuing our lengthy tradition of rounding up stuff for you to buy, we've assembled a big list of things to save money on. Let's not beat around the bush, but get right to it.

We'll update this list throughout the weekend as we find new sales, so check back for more.

When it comes down to pure hardware (and even the basic design), the Optimus G is essentially a non-stock-Android Nexus 4. If that means nothing else to you, it should translate into one thing: the guts are pretty awesome, and if you get the chance to throw stock Android on it, the experience is fantastic.

If you've been considering grabbing this device for yourself – on either AT&T or Sprint – Amazon Wireless just dropped the price to $50 for new contracts and upgrades on both carriers. So, no matter which way you slice it, half a Benjamin lands you a pretty impressive phone that fared quite well in our review:

  • Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro APQ8064 quad-core at 1.5GHz
  • GPU: Adreno 320
  • Network Compatibility: AT&T: GSM quad-band with LTE, Sprint: CDMA with LTE
  • Operating System: Android 4.0.4 with Optimus UI 3.0
  • Display: 4.7" TrueHD IPS+ 768x1280 (320DPI, 15:9)
  • Memory: 2GB RAM / 16/32GB storage (depends on model)

It's Friday, which means the weekend – and thus, downtime (for many people, anyway) – is only a few hours away. What better way to kick off the next couple of non-work days than with some great games for a fraction of the price? I submit that such a thing does not exist.

We've stumbled across several good deals this morning, including a couple of really fantastic titles for merely a buck. Let's get to it!

Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour

Normally $6.99, you can get your hands on Gameloft's newest first-person shooter for a measly $0.99 for a limited time.

Not everyone's sold on Samsung's Android-powered camera experiment, but for those who are, you can grab one for a cool $30 off. The international 3G/LTE version of the Galaxy Camera is the latest gadget to get its time in the spotlight of eBay's Daily Deals promotion, going for $469.99, $30 off the price you'll pay in most stores and even more off of the Amazon price. Unlike most of the discounted 3G devices out there, this one doesn't require a contract (since the Galaxy Camera is sold without one anyway) but you'll need your own active SIM card to take advantage of that mobile connection.

wm_GALAXY S III Product Image (10)_W

The Galaxy S IV is coming. As such, vendors who bought a huge backstock of Galaxy S IIIs need to clear 'em out and make some room. That can only mean one thing: lower prices. Today, you can get a brand-new, factory unlocked Galaxy S III (GT-i9300) for $470. No contracts. No carrier crap. Just a phone that you can activate on any compatible GSM carrier.

If the deal itself wasn't already good enough, you can also choose between all six different colors: Garnet Red, Marble White, Pebble Blue, Sapphire Black, Titanium Gray, and... brown. I'm sure you're all familiar with everything the GSIII has to offer at this point, so there's only one thing left to do: hit the link below to buy yours.
