If you've been thinking about jumping from your current carrier to Sprint, then you may want to take advantage of this deal: one of the most popular Android phones of all time, the HTC EVO 4G, is now free with a new two-year agreement from Wirefly and Amazon Wireless. This is by far the lowest price that we've ever seen the EVO go for, and even though it's over a year old, it still rivals many of the phones currently being released.

This phone needs no introduction, but if you haven't looked at it in a while, here is a quick refresher:

  • 4.3 Inch 480x800 TFT display
  • 1GHz single-core snapdragon
  • 512MB RAM
  • 8MP rear camera with 720p video capture
  • 1.3MP front facing camera
  • Android 2.3

We've all seen "roundup" lists of smartphones before: who's got the best display, who has the quickest processor, the newest OS revision, the biggest battery - but let's face facts: that kind of stuff is for nerds (like all of us here at AP - and most of our wonderful readers). So we're going to try out something new - call it a pilot episode, if you will.

When you're attempting to convince the less geeky folks you know that they should pick up an Android phone, it can be a tough sell. Particularly when you're pitching a $200 handset to a person that has been quite happy with free flip-phones for the last 7 years.

There's no denying that the ASUS Eee Pad Transformer is one of the best Android tablets on the market. The keyboard dock makes it a one of a kind, and its unusually low price tag gives it more bang-for-your-buck than the bulk of the competition. Today's Daily Deal on eBay is the 32GB version of the Transformer (normally $500) with some pretty sweet accessories. While this bundle doesn't include the keyboard dock, it does bring a $90 Klipsch stereo headset and an 8GB microSD card to the table.

The Klipsch headset (1012134 ProMedia, if you want to get specific) is a sleek, red-and-black noise-cancelling in-ear setup designed with gaming in mind.

With the impending launch of the HTC EVO 3D, other Sprint phones in the same price point are starting to look a bit... lackluster. Fortunately, there are always killer deals out there for those looking to score a new phone without breaking the bank. This is exactly the case for the HTC EVO Shift 4G from Amazon Wireless - sign a new two-year agreement, get the phone for $40. This is a solid deal, especially when you consider that Sprint is willing to pay you if you switch before June 23rd. If you're already on Sprint, the deal is not quite as sweet: it'll set you back $99 after you re-up your contract.

This is quite the deal if you've been thinking about getting an Xperia PLAY: with a new two-year agreement, you can get the one-and-only Playstation phone for less than one dollar at both Amazon and Wirefly - $0.01 and $0.99 respectively, to be exact. If you're already on VZW, you can still score this device for $50 with a two-year agreement renewal.

Even though both retailers are offering similar deals, if you decide to buy from Wirefly, you'll get a $25 Android Market Card good towards to purchase of new apps and games, which makes this an overall better deal (if you like free stuff, that is).

If you've been considering the Droid Incredible 2 as your next phone, now is probably the best time to make the leap, as Wirefly has a pretty unbelievable deal going on: you can score this next-gen Droid for a mere $2 with a new two-year agreement (of course). If you're already a Verizon customer lookin' to grab this phone as an upgrade, it will still only set you back $50 (it's currently $200 at VZW). As always, there's no charge for shipping and it will be void of sales tax in most states.

It looks like eBay's Daily Deals feature may become the go-to source for Android tablet shopping - just last week they had the Motorola XOOM Wi-Fi for $100 off, and today, the Viewsonic gTablet has found its way onto the site for a mere $250 with free shipping.

2011-06-07 12h44_08

This isn't the first time that the gTablet has made its way into our deals category, either - we've actually featured it a few different times when it was on Woot. This is, however, the lowest price that we've seen this dual-core tablet go for.

A quick spec reminder is probably in order, so here you go:

  • 10.1 inch 1024x600 display
  • 1GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual-core processor
  • 512MB RAM
  • 16GB storage with microSD card slot
  • 1.3 MP front camera
  • Android 2.2

Even though it's not rocking Honeycomb, I still say this tablet is absolutely worth $250  - but you better hurry, because this deal can come to a close at any time!

If you've been around the smartphone world at all over the past several years, then there is little doubt that you've tried, or at least heard-of, Documents to Go. This is has been the standard as far as mobile Office compatible suites are concerned, and for a limited time you can score the full version of this excellent software for 50% off the normal price, which brings the total down to $7.49, for your Android phone.

Documents to Go is quite full featured - you can view and edit Word, Excel, and Powerpoint documents, sync all local documents with your device, pull and edit files from Google Docs, and much more.

When it comes to podcasting applications on Android, there are certain ones that stand above the rest. Among those, BeyondPod Podcast Manager may be the top dog, and for this weekend only, you can score this awesome app for just $1.99 as opposed to the usual $6.99.

Note from Artem: I've been a fan of BeyondPod for over a year now and use it for managing, syncing, and listening to my podcasts exclusively. Listen? What Listen?

BeyondPod is packed full of features (so many, I just had to use bullet points. I do love bullet points):

  • Full Google Reader integration and sync
  • both audio and video supported, or just use it as an RSS reader
  • Complete podcast control: how many to download, when to download, and how many to store.
