It's been a couple of months since the Pixel and Pixel XL debuted, but it's still rare to come across a deal for them, especially on the XL model. In fact, we've posted a total of zero Deal Alerts on the non-Verizon Pixel XL. However, Google itself has decided to offer a free official case to anyone who purchases the Pixel XL from the Google Store. Read More
If you saw our comparison of 2017 Android Wear watches, you'll know most new smartwatches are pretty pricey. If you don't feel like emptying your wallet, the LG Urbane 2nd Edition is just $171.99 on eBay (which is about $20 less than the current average price). Read More
This one is a huge price drop. Just a few days ago this was $550 on Amazon (although it has been down around $450 a few times, like back at the beginning of April), but right now Huawei's Jewel/Pearl model of their OG smartwatch is $220. Huawei's Android Wear device is one of the best from the last generation. The style might not be for everyone, but the price certainly is. And the deal is at Amazon with no 3rd party seller or code needed. The only disadvantage is a slight delay in shipping. Read More
Some deals are just too good not to highlight on their own instead of being grouped with the list of freebies and discounts on the Play Store. And this one is definitely one of them. Runtastic Road Bike Pro has dropped from $4.99 to free, $0, nada, zilch, zero. This is Runtastic's dedicated app for tracking bike rides, with maps, charts, history, all manners of stats, and weather data.
While most cyclists I know are on Strava, that didn't stop Runtastic from still garnering enough users for its own app: between 100K and 500K downloads on the Play Store for the paid Pro version and a rating of 4.4 with more than 15000 reviews will attest to that. Read More
The completely wireless earbud trend started several years ago, long before Apple's Airpods, and Bragi was one of the companies at the forefront of the technology. After the inevitable delays that plague every Kickstarter product, Bragi managed to ship The Dash and actually deliver on its promise. In my review of the earbuds, I found the technology a little magical, the NFMI transmission between the two earbuds more reliable than Bluetooth, the design completely freeing, and the basic features well done. Sony's new Xperia X line of phones was considered a bit overpriced when it launched. However, as all phones tend to do after time, they've since dropped in price. Today, you can grab an Xperia X Performance for only $299.99 - a full $200 off the sticker price. If you've been looking to grab a cheap Sony with mid- to high-end specs, now may be the time. In the past few years, smartphone manufacturers have been bundling in free stuff with their shiny new phones in hopes of enticing us to drop hundreds of dollars on something most of us really don't need. Take LG, for example; they threw in a 200GB microSD and spare battery with the V10, some B&O earphones with the V20, and a Google Home with the G6. Like it's done often in the past, Samsung included a free Gear VR with Galaxy S8/S8+ pre-orders (plus a 256GB microSD and some AKG Bluetooth headphones for an extra $99). But if you want an S8 now, you'll get what Samsung is calling the 'Samsung Entertainment Kit' instead. Read More
With the Play Store's new ability to have apps go free momentarily, we rarely feel the need to highlight the weekly 10-cent deals anymore because they do seem less appealing than something going completely free, so we've been posting them in our long deal roundup posts instead. But we're making an exception here because the 10-cent discount is hitting one app you might have on your watchlist and that hasn't dropped in price a single time in 5 years: MX Player Pro. (Actually it even rose in price from $5.22 to $5.99 in December 2015.)
MX Player Pro is the ad-free version of the beloved and powerful MX Player, a video player that can handle more video formats and encodings than I care to list here. Read More
Do you want a Home? Do you really need a Home in your life? A small little Home you can call your own... oops, sorry, you have to call it Google or it won't reply to you. But in case you answered yes to the first two questions and you were clear about the fact that I was talking about the Google Home speaker-slash-personal-assistant, then you might be in luck today.
Newegg is discounting the Google Home $15 from $129 to $114, which is exactly the same discount as the official Google Store, but it's also throwing in a $20 gift card, making this one of the best Home deals we've seen in a while. Read More
It's not uncommon for BLU to discount its phones for a day or two right after their releases, and the new R1 Plus's launch is proving to be no different. Following its unveiling yesterday, the Plus is now available from Amazon at a pretty substantial $50 discount. If you're in the market for a long-lasting phablet and don't need the latest specs and software, this may be worth taking a look at. Read More
