[Deal Alert] League of Stickman is down to 10 cents or less worldwide

It's been a while since we've had a good Play Store deal worldwide. Lately, they've all been limited to a few European countries and Australia — not even the US or Canada could benefit from many of the 10 cents price drops we've been posting. But today's different.

League of Stickman, the combat adventure game that's become quite popular with its fast-paced fighting moves and beautiful immersive graphics is down on the Play Store to about 10 cents, worldwide. This is the paid version of the game, which normally costs $0.99, but also still comes with IAP, so keep that in mind.

[Nostalgic Deal Alert] PlayerPro Music Player is down to 10 Cents in some European countries and Australia

I still remember getting my HTC Desire Z, rooting it and installing a cleaner custom ROM, then instantly looking for a decent music player on the Play Store that could handle music synchronization from iTunes. After days of research, I settled on PlayerPro and iSyncr, which would let me sync specific playlists from my iMac to my phone along with all the ID3 tags and metadata, even the lyrics and album art. And it took care of syncing back play counts to iTunes, which were used to improve the smart playlists it generated. I was practically using my Desire Z as if it was an iPod and it was revolutionary!

[Deal Alert] Up to 66% off many NVIDIA SHIELD titles like MGR: Revengeance and the new Q*Bert Rebooted

Back when I was a student, a long long time ago, "back to school" was end of September or even beginning of October. But summer school vacations here in Lebanon seem to be following the same pattern as the US recently: they're getting shorter and thus school is starting sooner.

I'm not sure why you'd celebrate "back to school" with game discounts though — isn't that counter-productive? Or maybe kids are going to be so taken by their studies that it'd be nice to give them a break on the cheap, especially when playing in the sun becomes less feasible as fall hits.

[Deal Alert] Refurbished UE MEGABOOM portable Bluetooth speaker $150 at Best Buy (50% Off)

In early 2015, the MEGABOOM was the biggest, baddest speaker in the Ultimate Ears lineup. To get one, you had to fork over $300. By the end of the year, we were happy to see the speaker on sale for $50 off. Now you can turn that dollar sign into a percent sign... and move it to the right.

Snapchat is acquiring search and recommendation service Vurb, winner of TechCrunch Disrupt

Snapchat is quickly becoming the place where teenargers, young adults, and even older generations share what they're doing and communicate with each other. Now the service is looking to buy Vurb, a start-up specialized in mobile search, recommendations, and discovery.

Vurb had won TechCrunch's Disrupt in 2014 with its idea of a mobile search engine that serves you relevant results in the form of cards from the apps you care about most, like Yelp, Google Maps, Fandango, Netflix, Uber, and so on, and combines them together in a way that makes sense: take a ride, watch a movie, get dinner, get another cab home.

[Deal Alert] True Skate is available for £0.10 / €0.10 in many countries (no US)

The Tony Hawk series might be the King of skateboarding games, but that doesn't mean there can't be other viable contenders for the title. True Skate, currently available for $0.10 in many countries (but not in the US), is one such game, and by the looks of it does a damn good job.

True Skate is the official 'Street League Skateboarding' video game, which a bit of Googling tells me is an international competitive skateboarding series. For True Skate to have these credentials is a pretty big indicator of its quality (or at least potential quality) and should inspire confidence if you are a skateboarding fan.
